At Afterplay Africa, we believe sports can bring young people together, but technology can open doors to new opportunities.
Many street-connected youths have talent, dreams, and intelligence. What they often lack is access, guidance, and exposure.
This is why AI is a core part of our mission.
Through AI and technology, we can support learning, mentorship, digital skills, creativity, and future opportunities for vulnerable children and adolescents.
For us, AI is not just about tools. It is about inclusion, empowerment, and giving every young person a fair chance to thrive.

Welcome to Afterplay Africa
We are excited to officially introduce this page as the home of Afterplay Africa, also known as Afterplay AI.
Afterplay Africa is a sport-for-development initiative created to use the power of sports to mentor, support, and transform the lives of vulnerable children and young people.
For us, sports is more than play. It is a tool for discipline, confidence, teamwork, leadership, healing, and social reintegration.
Through football and other sporting activities, we will create safe spaces where children and young people can learn, grow, build positive relationships, and discover their potential beyond the field of play.
Afterplay Africa is the brainchild of Prince Nyong, a renowned sustainability champion and child protector. It is supported by Street Mentors Network.
As we begin this journey officially, we invite you to follow, support, partner, and grow with us.
This is more than a game.
This is mentorship. This is hope. This is transformation.
Welcome to Afterplay Africa.

In TGT, we train girls every Fridays to achieve their potential.
And become tech savvy.

Our initiative had the privilege of visiting Emilis Secondary School. I was impressed by the students' eagerness and enthusiasm for learning. A notable moment occurred when I shared my age with the students, which left them astonished. This encounter has the potential to inspire a growth mindset and a belief in limitless possibilities among the students.
We strongly advocate for the integration of digital literacy into the curriculum of all schools and local communities. To achieve this, we recommend that every school be equipped with state-of-the-art computer laboratories and employ qualified ICT teachers. This is just the beginning of our efforts to make a positive impact. We invite you to join us in making progress and promoting digital literacy.

Have you ever wondered how TGT came to be?
The idea was conceived four years ago, born out of a deep concern for the state of education in our local schools. It was alarming to see schools claiming to be standard-bearing institutions without even a basic computer laboratory. This oversight was compounded by parents who seemed to be satisfied with their children merely acquiring basic literacy skills, without any emphasis on technological proficiency.
My experience with computer education was limited to theoretical knowledge gained from textbooks. Unfortunately, our computer teacher's lackluster approach made it difficult for us to engage with the subject. The instruction was often dry and unpractical, leaving us with more questions than answers.
Despite paying school fees, there was no discernible improvement in the quality of education or computer literacy. In fact, the situation only deteriorated over time, with inflation exacerbating the issue.
As a result, students were forced to seek external computer lessons to supplement their inadequate education. This glaring need for quality technology education inspired the creation of TGT. Our mission is to highlight the significance of technology in today's world and provide students with comprehensive knowledge and skills to succeed in this digital age.
