It was more than just a match
it was a moment stitched with pride, love, and history.
At the Uyo Township Stadium, the atmosphere carried something deeper than football. Though Ibom Angels secured a hard-fought 1–0 victory over Rivers Angels, the scoreboard only told half the story. The other half lived in the stands, in the cheers, in the unity of those who gathered to celebrate Victoria, jersey number 19, our very own Vicky Pelle.
From the Akwa Ibom State FA Chairman to the Ibom Angels Chairman, Prince Ukeme Ukpong, the presence of the Forum of Sports Directors, University of Uyo, former head coach of Dakada fc, head coach of Nichin fa, alongside former UniUyo team players, both male and female and the school team coach, painted a powerful picture of loyalty and legacy. They didn’t just come to watch football; they came to honor one of their own.
Every clap, every shout, every moment of recognition was a reminder of Vicky’s journey, it is rooted in a community that believes, supports, and celebrates her.
It became a double celebration: the triumph of Ibom Angels and the emotional homecoming of a star whose story continues to inspire. Even in victory, the love shown to Vicky stood tall proof that sometimes, the loudest wins are not just scored with goals, but with hearts.
