GOV ENO SPONSORS ANOTHER BATCH OF TRAINEES TO IBOM-LED AS DASAC GRADUATES 2ND COHORT

Governor Umo Eno has approved the sponsorship of another batch of trainees from the Dakkada Skills Acquisition Centre (DASAC) to the Ibom Leadership and Entrepreneurial Development Centre (Ibom-LED) for advanced training.

The Governor, represented by his deputy, Senator Akon Eyakenyi, made the announcement on Thursday during the graduation ceremony of DASAC’s second cohort at Ikot Ada Edem.

He reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to producing job creators, noting that human capital development remains central to the ARISE Agenda.

He explained that the 200 government-sponsored trainees in the second cohort would proceed to Ibom-LED for further training.

“After your training here, we are not leaving you alone. Ibom-LED will take you through branding, finishing and the finesse needed to excel,” he said, adding that the initiative complements the state’s growing focus on ICT, the blue economy and entrepreneurship.

In his address, the Rector of DASAC, Prof. Enoidem Usoro, thanked the Governor for his unwavering support, describing his investment in education and vocational skills as remarkable.

In their separate Goodwill messages the deputy Registrar, College of Education Afaha Nsit, Mrs Emediong William and the representative of the Vice Chancellor University of Lagos, Prof Sunday Adebisi, commended the state government for prioritizing skills development.

In his valedictory speech, best graduating trainee, Mr. Uyanga Idongesit, expressed gratitude to the Governor and the school management, pledging to be a worthy ambassador of the institution.

Meanwhile, the ALGON Chairman, Dr. Uwemedimo Udoh, while speaking with journalists, lauded the Governor’s commitment to youth empowerment and revealed that council chairmen sponsored 208 of the 428 graduands. He expressed optimism that all 31 Local Government council chairmen would have their indigenes sponsored in the next cohort.

The ceremony featured an exhibition of trainees’ projects, presentation of awards to outstanding graduands and gifts made by the students for the Governor.

She didn’t respond either after I got her some water. Annoyed, I blurted out, “Is anyone going to say, ‘Thank yo...
