Dos Tiburones Dive Shop

Well one year ago today, we made this post:( it’s been one year since our property was illegally seized.) And as you can see from the pictures the criminals that did this to us have done NOTHING! All they did was steal our business and tear it down. My heart remains broken!

Friday January 13th,2023 our dive shop was confiscated by police from Managua and Big Corn island in riot gear with guns drawn. They put our manager in handcuffs and loaded all of our furniture and equipment into trucks. Supposedly, the order for this illegal seizure came from the highest level, but we have not been shown official paperwork of any kind. Our attorney has also not been able to obtain this paperwork. No eviction notice or warrant, nothing signed by a judge , as should be according to Nicaraguan law. This comes after we have spent years in court defending our right to the property we purchased legally. It also comes after the man trying to steal our property attempted to use threats, violence, and bribery to get us to leave. Finally, they had to resort to these extreme measures to get what they wanted, and it appears they have succeeded. The building has already been demolished. We have the names of the company responsible, its owner, as well as the names of the officers who carried out the orders, if any journalists would be interested in publishing this information. This comes as a shock to us, as you can imagine, and we are deeply sorry to see our investment in Nicaragua come to such a disappointing end. However, what they can not take from us is the amazing friends we have met from every corner of the world. They also can not take the extreme pride for what we created and the way that it helped us grow into better people. Thank you to our family for all of your support over the years and to all of the divers abroad who have supported us through the years. It was a great ride we will never regret
