Battle of the Lowlands

Seven years ago, someone challenged me to organize a bigger, better, and more international tournament than I'd already done. And what a fantastic location the TopsportCentre in Almere would be.

I told him "No, I can't" to which he replied "you should always have ambitions........"

This triggered me, and look where we are now.
Last Saturday I organized the Battle of the Lowlands for the sixth time and how we grow.
Together with a group of enthusiastic volunteers, we made it a fantastic event.

We had a total of 460 athletes / 51 teams from eight countries.

Besides Patterns, Sparring, high jump and power breaking, we had this year for the first time Team Patterns and pre-arranged sparring.

It was a long day, but one filled with joy and satisfaction. And a day where I spoke with so many national & international Taekwon-Do friends.

A huge thank you to everyone who made my passion a reality.

The next Battle of the Lowlands is Saturday, October 24, 2026.

09:00hrs              -> Start Tournement
