Amsterdam. My home for the last 8 years. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Sometimes I cycle along those glorious canals and can't believe my luck. The city never ceases to surprise with hidden gems of architecture or a new pop up cafe. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
I scoot around on my old bike, Speedy Gonzalez (now in retirement!) and now the newer but still rusty Nippy. Often far too quickly and not stopping to appreciate the beauty of the city. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
So today I stopped. I had a little time in between meetings and simply looked out at the stunning view that this photo doesn't even capture fully. ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
And it felt great to just take it all in with no agenda. Just thinking of how little this scene has changed in hundreds of years. Did you know some of the canal houses date back to the 15th Century? .⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀

This is a photo I took in the dessert of Morocco. An epic sign in my eyes.
It really resonated with me and so I made it into a Pace print. A little reminder to always find your own Paradise of Silence. Whatever that means for you.
Maybe it’s listening to peaceful music or simply being in nature.
What’s your paradise of silence? I’d love to hear then below!

If anything makes me happy and content it’s hiking. Pair that with my home turf, the rolling hills and valleys of England and it’s a dream.
That’s what our trip this summer felt like. We feel so grateful to have been able to visit wonderful England. Wild camping our way around the green lands and dipping into Wales too!
Even if you haven’t been able to get away this summer, are there ways to still find newness in your neighbourhood?
I try to find new walking routes everyday as I get bored of the same old streets. Perhaps there’s undiscovered hidden gems in your area.
Go forth and explore!

M E N T A L H E A L T H .
Last week was World Mental Health Day.
A day to firstly think inwards, how are you feeling right now? But also a day to think outwards, to those that perhaps are not having such a great day.
Part of Pace is to acknowledge that we all struggle with our mental health at times. If I had been fully ‘ok’ in January when I had insomnia and then crashed my bike, perhaps I wouldn’t have re-ignited Pace.
And it’s great that we acknowledge Mental health awareness with a special day. But in reality, this should be everyday. Acknowledging that it’s ok to not be ok. It’s normal to feel anxious or overwhelmed, especially during this strange period we all find ourselves in.
Each morning just check in with yourself. If you’re not feeling your best, care for yourself like you would a friend. Be kind, do something that makes you feel good. Perhaps it’s baking a cake, perhaps it’s taking a bath. It’s so easy to push self care to the end of a to-do list.
And guess what? It’s doesn’t happen. Life gets in the way. So commit to finding something today just for you.
