Pilates by AnGel was created to support people with their day to day balance. Pilates is a form of

Anne started to practice Pilates in 2012 in London when her osteopath advised her post pregnancy to take some classes to help with her back issues. In 2014, Anne moved to the Netherlands and started training at the Movement Practice in Amsterdam. She was at the time pregnant but already had in mind to become a Pilates instructor. She built her core strength back to reach her goal

Precision is one the Pilates principles. It is in my view what makes Pilates so exciting and comprehensive.

As I progress in my practice, basic exercises become even more difficult. With regular practice, we become more precise and deliberate in the đ—ļ𝘀đ—ŧ𝗹𝗮𝘁đ—ļđ—ģ𝗴 𝗮 𝘀đ—Ŋ𝗲𝗰đ—ļđ—ŗđ—ļ𝗰 đ—ē𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲.

𝗙𝗹đ—ŧ𝘄 is the 8th principle of Pilates.

To me flow is making Pilates beautiful to watch. I like to see the flow in the 𝗲𝘅𝗲𝗰𝘂𝘁đ—ļđ—ŧđ—ģ đ—ŧđ—ŗ 𝗮đ—ģ 𝗲𝘅𝗲đ—ŋ𝗰đ—ļ𝘀𝗲 or to have flow đ—ļđ—ģ 𝘁đ—ĩ𝗲 𝘁đ—ŋ𝗮đ—ģ𝘀đ—ļ𝘁đ—ļđ—ŧđ—ģ𝘀 between the different positions we perform.

Flow is also about having optimum muscle recruitment and movement through the joints.

Efficiency is one of my favorite principles with Balance. I see it as a teaching to đ—¯đ—˛ đ—ŗđ—ŧ𝗰𝘂𝘀𝗲𝗱 đ—ŧđ—ģ 𝘄𝗮𝘀𝘁đ—ļđ—ģ𝗴 𝗮𝘀 𝗹đ—ļ𝘁𝘁𝗹𝗲 𝗲đ—ģ𝗲đ—ŋ𝗴𝘆 𝗮𝘀 đ—Ŋđ—ŧ𝘀𝘀đ—ļđ—¯đ—šđ—˛.

The purpose of practicing efficiency in Pilates is to help us in our day to day movement but I believe as well in the way we organise our lives.

Control is achieved when the đ—ēđ—ŧ𝘃𝗲đ—ē𝗲đ—ģ𝘁 đ—¯đ—˛đ—°đ—ŧđ—ē𝗲𝘀 đ—ļđ—ģđ—ģ𝗮𝘁𝗲. I see it as being extremely graceful.

At first a controlled movement comes with intentionality but with practice and time it becomes intuitive, that's when you achieve mastery.

Concentration, in the context of Pilates, is a cognitive process of understanding the movement.
It is about đ—ŗđ—ŧ𝗰𝘂𝘀đ—ļđ—ģ𝗴 đ—ŧđ—ģ 𝗮 𝘀đ—Ŋ𝗲𝗰đ—ļđ—ŗđ—ļ𝗰 đ—ē𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 before / during the movement to recruit the right muscles and avoid unnecessary strain on the body. It is also about the đ—¯đ—ŋ𝗲𝗮𝘁đ—ĩ đ—Ŋ𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲đ—ŋđ—ģ to keep the focus and rhythm in the movement.
