A memorable pre-season weekend in Belgium

In scorching heat, AAC Rugby was welcomed by Royal Rugby Club Visé for a pre-season friendly — a match that AAC ultimately won. But this weekend was about much more than the result.

Over the years, our two clubs have developed a genuinely warm friendship, built on mutual respect and a shared passion for rugby. From the excellent lunches and dinners to the care shown throughout our stay, the hospitality was truly outstanding. Our sincere compliments and thanks to everyone at RC Visé who made us feel so welcome.

We are delighted that this fixture will now become an annual tradition. To mark the occasion, AAC Rugby presented a new challenge trophy in honour of Laurent Otten. Laurent is a former Belgian international and captain of the national rugby team. With Royal Rugby Club Visé, he won both the Belgian Championship and the Belgian Cup in 2000. After retiring as a player, he remained an influential administrator within Belgian rugby for more than twenty years.

Laurent was also the perfect host throughout the weekend — making him the ideal person after whom to name this special trophy.
Thank you, Royal Rugby Club Visé, for a fantastic weekend. We are already looking forward to next year!

The Rugby Coach Summit is coming to Amsterdam!

On August 22nd & 23rd, 2026, AAC Rugby will host a unique two-day coaching event at the NRCA Stadium in Amsterdam, bringing together some of the game's most respected coach educators and performance specialists.

Whether you're coaching at club, youth or academy level, this summit is designed to challenge your thinking, develop practical coaching skills and provide an opportunity to learn from internationally recognised experts.

Over two days you'll experience:
✅ Practical on-field coaching sessions
✅ Innovative coaching concepts
✅ Interactive workshops
✅ Shared experiences with coaches from across the rugby community

In addition, a dedicated Player Development Programme (16+) will run alongside the event, creating an outstanding learning environment for both coaches and players.

This is more than a coaching course—it's an opportunity to connect, share ideas and help raise the standard of rugby coaching together.
