The last racing day came to an end after having sailed only three races, while the wind was picking up fast. The first race we were struggling to find the right trim, and we came in 10th place.

Luckily, we were able to compose ourselves and we had a nearly perfect start at the second race. Despite the strong competition, we defended our 6th place in the last two races!

Yesterday was our first racing day and we had the opportunity get used to the boat and the weather conditions at sea. Because of the approaching typhoons Lekima and Krosa we only sailed two races in the morning.

Despite the big waves and changing current, we were able to maintain a 6th place amongst the twelve teams. After evaluating our results, we are looking forward to the next racing day and are hoping to sail closer to the top 3. Due to the heavy winds of the typhoons, the next racing day will probably be on tuesday.

We’ll keep you updated!

Last friday the ITUR 2019 had been opened by an amazing ceremony as you can see below.

We were welcomed by the organization and enjoyed their hospitality. We also had the opportunity to go and see the old town of Qingdao, which we really enjoyed.

Second race day!

What an amazing day! The wind was so much better today and the sun was again pretty hot but nice. We ended up first in de first race!! What a fantastic feeling to finish with all the boats behind you. The second race we ended up 3rd but that was okay because it was a close one and we had fun! We don't know yet if we are going to sail the silver or gold fleet tomorrow so we are curious and excited for the total results from yesterday and today! Watch the video to hear about the details from todays sailing from Laurens (aka Chenenay)
