Besides teaching and coaching dance, I also give small group training and personal training in functional fitness at
Most people are not acquainted with the term functional fitness.
In the Netherlands we have a saying: "Wat een boer niet kent, dat eet hij niet!"
People have the tendency to be reserved with the things they do not know, nit even touch it.
But functional fitness is the foundation of every every day movement.
Every day movements are imitated, like lying on the floor and looking for something under the bed and to get up again is imitating a burpee, picking up a box of the floor and stand up straight is called a deadlift, etc.
So this makes functional fitness not an unfamiliar term.
This is the reason why besides dancing, functional fitness is a good thing to do. You also build up strength, mobility, flexibility and you also release stress, but other muscles and tendons are being addressed.
This makes it a whole and one system.

When will you come and follow a functional fitness class or a dance class?

Drie (3) weken geleden gaf ik samen met de 1ste dansworkshop - Back to Basics- van een reeks.
Naar aanleiding van deze workshop, wilde een deelnemer een personal danstraining volgen.
Het gestelde doel van de deelnemer: "Eén te zijn met het lichaam, body Flow!"
Alles begint bij het fundament, zonder fundament stort alles in.

" Niet streng zijn voor mezelf, door gedachtes hoe iets moet zijn beperk ik mezelf. Niet in paniek raken, stap voor stap rustig oefenen zoals nodig. Als je het eenmaal hebt, dan kan je versnellen. Vanuit eigen basis leven, geen act.
Wanneer je aankomt bij de studio, niet met je zware rugzak naar binnen komen (lading van de dag, etc.), laat het los en geef het moment voor jezelf."
