This exercise can be performed with your hands free or while holding a small stick in both hands. I love doing this excercise as it feels wonderfull in the spine and at the same time gently tonifies the abdominal muscles as well as the lungs.
It balances the front and back of the body which mentally and emotionally can have a balancing effect.

This excercise is called the Awakening. Its effect is to awaken certain activities, including those of the energy centers. Additionally, it also aims to exercise the muscles of the abdominal wall.
I love how this excercise feels in the chest, especially upper chest. It is also an excellent way to gently strecht the hamstrings, which is so beneficial in calming the nervous system. Allow the effort that your muscles make to correspond to your own current capacities and, therefore, avoiding any overexertion.
The challenge is to stay present and aware. Move slowly and gently, with the breath.

If you know me a little, you know that I absolutely love herbs and spices! It is my dream to know everything about nature’s apothecary! But realistically that will take more than a lifetime to learn. So in the mean time, I stay curious, explore and learn about the herbs that are in season and at my disposal.
In 2024 I got diagnosed with an auto-immune disease. I committed to treating the disease naturally and during my healing period last year, I started making overnight infusions instead of regular herbal teas.

This is the first of many exercises belonging to Pawanmuktasana, as taught by my teacher’s teacher, Nil Hahoutoff. It has been a fundamental part of my practice (and healing journey), and I hope it might become something of meaning and importance to you!

As an individual I really doubt whether I can make a difference with regards to sustainability.
But when it comes to oatmylk, I actually do feel better when I make it myself.
I drink on average 2l of oatmylk per week. That’s 8 packs per month. 96 packs per year. 96 packs that go into the trash. I haven’t done much research, but I’m pretty sure they are not biodegradable or recyclable.
Oke, you can use them as containers for sprouting, or plant seedlings, but I might re-use 10 of them. Still 86 packs going to the trash.
