This weekend we had a great Tai Ki Gasshuku in Paris. Organized by Budo club ACBB of sensei Jacques Legree, pioneer of Kyokushin Karate in France and Kyoshi Tai Ki Ken.
Dedicated to the memory of Sensei Marshall McDonagh and Sensei Jan Kallenbach with our Teachers:
- Kyoshi Hans Bakker from Shin-ShinBuKen, Amsterdam
- Kyoshi Åke Wall From YoShinKen, Stockholm
- Kyoshi Julien Porterie From ACBB, Boulogne-Billancourt
Great training and nice Budo atmosphere with friends. Thanks to our host Julien Porterie!

Hanshi Marshall McDonagh left us on January 8, 2025. Marshall was a true Budo Kyoshi and gave so much to so many during his lifetime. I am grateful to have had him as a Sensei and good friend for over 50 years and thank him for all the knowledge he generously shared.
Now that his Ki has faded, Yoshinken and I will continue in his spirit.

"May the search never end" ( Marshall McDonagh)

Hanshi Marshall McDonagh will be honored on Saturday in Haga Parken at Yoshinken's Shin-nen-keiko, a place he trained at since 1974 and which he loved.

I had an inspiring and fantastic time In Tokyo with Yukio Ito sensei. He was a very nice host who took me to temples restaurants and taught Tai Ki. We went to Iwama Norimasa sensei and together we visited the grave of O sensei Sawai Kenichi. A very special moment!

A year ago an era came to an end. Besides all the titles he had, he was first and foremost Sensei Jan Kallenbach of Shin-Shinbuken from Amsterdam. Jan's mission was to keep Budo alive.

In loving memorie we will continue to do so.

Kyoshi Hans Bakker

It has been an eventful year with the passing of our Kyoshi Master Teacher Jan Kallenbach.
I would like to wish everyone a wonderful 2022. May you stay healthy and train again without any restrictions. And may 2022 be the year all Taikiken friends meet again!

On behalf of Shin-Shinbuken's board,

Kyoshi Hans Bakker
