Team Back on Track beat Team Kyboe today by 4 goals to 3 in an exciting final. They are the winners of the 1st International Ladies Challenge in Holland! Well done Sabrina, April, Marjolein and Renate!!!

Meet the players - meet Stephanie

Well.....I am 31, started playing polo when I was 20. After years of struggling to do dressage and jumping I discovered there was something fun to do on a horse, galloping around trying to hit a ball -polo!! I enjoy to play ladies polo and think the level is improving every year. I love that polo is a team sport, that with one mistake you are not out of the competition, and that I can continue with my obsession with horses!

Meet the players - meet April

Hi, my name is April Kent and I'm 27 years old. I've been playing polo since I was about 20 and am completely in love with the game!! My local club is Moyne Polo Club, Durrow, Co. Laois which is in the middle of Ireland. I have been with horses since before I can remember and began in hunting and pony club. Hunter trialling and eventing then followed until I discovered the beautiful game of polo. I played tennis and hockey in school before I ever played polo and for me, the best thing in the world is to be able to combine a stick and ball sport with horses. It makes polo the ultimate sport!!! I work in my family's hotel business and also I'm bringing a few young horses into polo.
Women's polo is a subject close to my heart. I am passionate about women in the game and the heights that women are achieving. This is being made possible by the increasing number of ladies tournaments being held all over the world. Long may women's polo continue to thrive and grow. I am very much looking forward to play in Holland as the tournament looks very competitive and am also looking forward to meeting the other players and playing polo! Can't wait!! xx"

Meet the players - meet Siobhan

Hi Everyone
My name is Siobhan Herbst, I'm the manager of Polo Wicklow in Ireland. I have been playing polo for 12 years now and hold a 1 goal International handicap and 4 in Ladies. My father Micky has been playing for over 50 years and finally when I was 18 my father allowed to play my first chukka and probably regretted it ever since as I have taken over all his ponies!! ;-)
Our club is the only all year round polo facilities in Ireland and very proud to host an International Ladies Tournament every August which is now the biggest event in the Irish Polo Calender and becoming well known in the ladies polo world for being great fun providing true 'Craic agus Ceoil' as we say in Ireland.
All though this is not my first time travelling abroad to play, it will be my first time on the continent travelling with my own ponies so I'm really looking forward to a fun weekend and good polo!
