Running Diaries..
Today's Plan was to do a Steady State Run of 8km..
Plan was to run and hold a steady pace of 6:00 - 6:15mins/km.
Started off well and then post the 1.5- 2km mark the fatigue hit me like anything. Legs weren't holding up nor was the body. Started throwing up the wate that i was sipping through the run. It was drag from there on till the very end..
Somehow managed to finish the Run at avg speed of 6:50-7mins/km

What did i learn??
All days aren't the same. Last few days being very stressful and me on an emotional eating spree had put me in a bad state even before the race/run had begun. Plus lack of sleep during the past few fays didnt help.


We as athletes and individuals dont realise how badly ur body can be affected cos of all these factors like Stress, Binge and Emotional Eating, Lack of Sleep and poor Hydration & Nutrition.

We only blame that we didn't perform better. But its very important to understand why we didn't perform better.


Lesson Learned: Respect the Body and Listen to it. It gives you signals from time to time.
There are days when u need to get out of your comfort zone and then there are days when u just need to take a step back and let your body recover and heal.

A void was created in the world of Indian Cricket.
A Coach, a Mentor, a Friend, a Legend, Vasu Sir left us for heavenly abode yesterday.
Whatever Cricket i learned and played was because of this man.
Vasu Sir believed in me and so I believed in myself. He was not only my Coach & Mentor but a father figure to me and to many other cricket players.
It feels like a part of cricket has left my soul and I am left with a vaccum that can never be filled up.

"Reading gives us some place to go, when we have to stay where we are".

This is exactly the joy Rishi Pipariya's "Cities of Adventure" books brought to my 10 year old Anaishaa. For Anaishaa "Travel = Adventure" and being locked in during the pandemic really minimised her opportunities for adventure.

But then one day she received this treasure from Rishi Papariya and from the moment she picked up the first book "Framed in Hollywood", she could not put it down.
As she read, I saw her expressions change from surprise to laughter to shock to content. And when she was finally done reading the entire book, she couldn't stop talking about the adventure she just went on with the Lander family in Los Angeles!

I cannot wait to get her, the full collection of "Cities of Adventure" so she can continue her exciting journey of mysteries and adventures that take her to different cities all around the world.

There comes a moment in every competition or. your workout, when u want to stop and give up…
It happens to me and happens to the best of athletes…
Remember it’s perfectly normal, it is healthy, it is ur mind challenging your body and testing how far you can go…



That’s when you take that moment to breathe , reflect and remember why you started on this journey.
That’s when you let your body accept the challenge and tell your mind “Hey let me show you how it’s done”.

But in the Impact they make in their Trainees Lives.
Take some Time out and tag or call that Coach who made an Impact in your life..

One of my favourite methods of training is doing a Complex. Today’s Barbell complex involves the following movements.
1. Deadlift
2. Bent-over Row
3. Upright Row
4. Front Squats
5. Push Press
6. Lunges
7. Push ups

Do 6 reps of these 7 exercises in a circuit. Take a 2 min break after each circuit and Do 4-6 such circuits..
The reason I love doing the barbell Complex or any complex for that matter is because it helps me to touch the different aspects of my fitness.
It helps me improve my strength, muscle endurance and also helps me with my conditioning.
If u planning to build ur workout around a Complex then you shud focus on doing a Complex atleast 2 -3 times a week.
