US Beat It

King's day tournament! On the 26th of April, Beat It and SCHIET (Amsterdam) collabed to organise an orange themed tournament at All Inn! The result: a big turn-out, tons of matches and a sea of oranje! 🧡🦁

In the first round, everyone was matched up five times to a randomly selected opponent. Shout-out to SCHIET for lending us their tournament software ... this made sure everything was a smooth operation! Afterwards, no less than nine groups were created to determine the winners. 🤝🏻🎗

Jurriaan and Joep both managed to win their poule, whereas Bart from SCHIET stunned everyone to win the A-class!

The winners went home with luxurious orange beers, and some of us even went to the King's day markets and stages to celebrate Willy's birthday 🍺

The last tournament of the season will be on the 18th of June at Olympos: our prestigious Club Championships! Who will get their name on the trophy?⚡️

'The one for the '26-'27 Board' 🎗

On May 6th we'll host our first boardborrel, a very lowkey evening to discover what it's like leading our association! 🤍🤎

Anyone is welcome to join, whether you're a Squash expert or have just started playing! 🫶🏻

No commitments, no strings attached ... purely discovering the ins and outs of each role and how spectacular the journey can be! 🤩

Members Weekend '26!🤎🤍 To a location so secret, our Chair only got the first clues five metres away from the final destination ...

Menno's old house became the scene for a bunch of spectacular activities: a cantus, a pubquiz and an improv comedy show! 🎭

At the Scavenger Hunt, some teams were more committed than others: while Stijn, Meg, Leo and Thomas discovered location after location, Joep's team was enjoying a marathon session of Dixit in the HEMA ... eventually though they joined us for some well-deserved beers at Café Camelot! 😁🍻

The weekend was also full of cultural discoveries: from experiencing hail for the first time, to Sophie finally knowing the German mythology meaning of Nibelung ... ;)

Another save the date is April 15th for our HALV at De Vagant (20:00)! Here, the board will go over the latest news surrounding our association and present some of the facts and figures 📨📬 Especially interesting for people who consider doing a board year next season!🤙🏻🫶🏻

Strike a po-... pin! Last Saturday, the AcCie took the association out to the lanes of Olround for some bowling action! 🎳

From the very first throws, it was clear everyone had a unique style: from Thomas' smashing the ball onto the lane, to Jop's gentle nudge technique, and Kristian's hand on the floor as a good luck charm ...

Surprisingly, in true "from zero to hero" style, Stijn bounced back from his disastrous 2025 edition to claim a Redemption Day victory!🎖

Beforehand we fueled ourselves with some "plant based power food" at Copper Branch, and the evening finished in style with card games at Ledig Erf! (per Stijn's request, of course with an Elvis Presley card deck ...) 🤙🏻

US Beat It's Friends & Family tournament ... or should we call it Joep's Friends & Family Tournament? Our Commissioner of Sports brought along most people, and went home with the victory as well! Undoubtedly due to the massive support from the sidelines ...

From double-handed fore- and backhands to push-ups before the match ... the day saw nothing less than extraordinary tactics to gain the (mental) edge!♟️🃏

In the end Jelle and Romi took home the (silv-) teaware in the beginner category, while a clean sweep of five 2-0 victories meant Joep won the advanced class!🏆

Hey there! Are you a (new) bachelor or master student and have you always wanted to try out Squash? Now is your chance!🔥

On the 5th, 12th and 19th of February Beat It hosts a new round of Open Clubnights. It's the perfect opportunity to see what the thrill of our sport and association is like! After the clubnight we'll dive into the bar for the very important third half🍻

Today's menu did not feature grippy indoor shoes ... but instead rocked a slippery and ice-cold Winter Special!

Several of us dared to enter the rink at Vechtsebanen, some with lots of experience, others making their debut on ice skates!

In the end there were wins with all around: from only falling down once to flawless pirouttes ... and of course the hot chocolate to warm the soul afterwards 🍫☕️
