The one year anniversary of Project Beacon in Chicago! and worked together with the Chicago Park District to open the first publicly accessible outdoor squash court in 2025.

The past year Project Beacon has been the host to players of all levels. Introducing new players to the game and making squash more visible and accessible to all.

With the one year anniversary it was time to celebrate this amazing place and get together for some good games of outdoor squash.

Our founder Rik has visited the Padel World Summit in Barcelona, exploring the synergy between the worlds of Padel and Squash.

Our modular outdoor squash courts are a perfect addition to padel clubs, helping facilities diversify their offerings and create additional revenue opportunities.
With squash entering the Olympics and racket sports continuing to grow globally, there has never been a better time to expand multi-sport concepts.

With our outdoor Squash courts we are trying to start a grass roots approach. Restarting the popularity of Squash by making it more visible, accessible and sociable.

Integrating our outdoor courts with other outdoor sports is a great way to get more people familiar with our sport. And public versions of our courts that are free to use by anyone are a great way to make the sport more accessible. As has been demonstrated by project beacon in Chicago.

Squash is the most space-efficient racket sport.

A full court requires just 66 m², whether indoor or outdoor. Many assume table tennis needs the least space, but official regulations call for a 7 x 14 m playing area, 98 m² in total. Badminton comes in at 106 m², while tennis is by far the most space-intensive at 670 m².

That difference matters in urban environments where every square meter counts. Our courts fit where others can’t, allowing more players, and stronger revenue potential per site. That’s why they’re increasingly integrated into multi-sport venues like padel, tennis, and athletics clubs.

Our courts feature unique semi-transparent acoustic glass.

With 50% translucency, it strikes the perfect balance between clear ball visibility and awareness of what’s happening inside and outside the court. At the same time, it reduces sound emissions to levels comparable with other racket sports.

An exciting milestone in South Africa! Two of our courts have arrived and are ready for assembly. Two full courts, one indoor and one outdoor, all shipped in a standard 20ft open top container.

They’re heading to Point Outdoor Squash at the iconic Mossel Bay, with installation planned for the end of May. We are getting ready for South Africa to enjoy the game of Squash outdoors!
