Met het einde van het jaar komt ook een einde aan onze tijd in het pand van ๐ฆ๐ซ. Na 11 jaar nemen we afscheid van een plek die voor ons โ en voor velen van jullie โ voelt als thuis.
Door de bestemmingsverandering van de locatie zijn we noodgedwongen om te verhuizen. Het pand wordt gesloopt om plaats te maken voor nieuwbouw. Dat is natuurlijk even slikkenโฆ

Op deze nieuwe plek bouwen we verder aan ons vertrouwde concept Personal & Small group training รฉn kijken we vooruit.
In Q2 2026 breiden we op een tweede verdieping uit met een Open Gym, voorzien van state-of-the-art apparatuur, een moderne inrichting en een doordacht, toekomstgericht trainingsconcept.
Onze missie? De omgeving Fellenoord actiever, gezonder en sterker maken โ door sport toegankelijk te maken en een plek te creรซren waar bewegen en verbinding centraal staan.

Gymnasium = Naked School
Back in time, our ancestors liked to hit the gym. But not to get a perfect beach body - to show off their naked bodies!
As a tribute to the gods, the Ancient Greeks used to go to the gym naked, a notion integrated into the semantics of the word โgymnasiumโ that translates as SCHOOL FOR NAKED EXERCISE.
Good that the gym has changed in these cold months! ๐ฅถ

THE PERFECT POACHED CHICKEN
๐ฅ INSTRUCTIONS
- Fill a pan with water so the chicken breast will covered with 5cm of water above
- Add Flavourings, if using: squeeze in lemon juice, add used lemon, bay leave, fresh herbs
- Bring water to boil
- Place chicken breast in water, place lid on, bring back up to the boil. IMMEDIATELY remove pan from stove and set aside for 20 minutes
- Remove chicken from water. Slice or shred and be amazed how perfectly juicy and tender the breast is!

OCTOBER TECHNIQUE CHALLENGE: The Turkish Get-Up
The Turkish get-up the entire body and helps build coordination and stability. Holding the kettlebell above your head requires stabilising muscles that might be missed with a lot of other exercises.
From month beginning to end
Increase total number of reps
Increase weight of kettlebell
Improve technique!

What are your weight lifting goals?
As personal trainers, we are often asked about long-term weight lifting goals. That is, how much should you aim to lift in each of your major exercises and how long should it take for you to get there?
These are good questions, since these numbers can be important markers of your progress as you continue to get stronger, allowing you to gauge whether youโre on track.
As far as weight lifting goals go, one of the best indicators of your progress is something called relative strength. This is a measure of how much you are able to lift for certain core exercises, relative to your current body weight.
Every person is different, and some people are naturally better suited for certain exercises, and are comparatively weaker in others.
For example, people with longer arms will often excel at deadlifting as opposed to bench pressing.
In turn, people with shorter arms will generally have a stronger bench press relative to their deadlift!
Squatting is often easier for guys with shorter femurs compared to people with longer femurs. And heavier people, with higher percentages of body fat, may find pull-ups particularly challenging compared to the other 4 exercises.
Finally, donโt feel that you have to reach advanced levels to have a lean, muscular physique.
In fact, most people will look muscular after they have reached the Intermediate level, which can be done in 1+ years.
