Irish dance in Eindhoven with Scoil Rince Celtus one of the leading Irish Dance Schools on Mainland Europe

24/09/2022

I would like anyone who reads or follows this page to make some suggestions that we could use to encourage people to come along and try a class or two.
We have like all sports and activities been struggling to attract new members in the Netherlands since returning from the pandemic break and are now looking for any ideas that may encourage people to get off their sofas and see what is out there to keep them occupied and motivated.
Irish dance like all dance is a sport that requires some effort and practice outside of the regular lessons. It is social and allows you to set targets and goals that keep you moving forward at your own pace.
We offer competitions (age groups for all ages) and levels (beginner to championship) for those who may be interested in that challenge. We also do team (Ceili - kayley)dancing and a mix of soft shoe and hard shoe dances so that there is always something new to learn.
The youngest dancer in the school is 4 years of age and the oldest is 70, so there is no limitation except what you put in place to limit yourself.
We look forward to meeting you or hearing any of your ideas.
Regards. Sean

We are gaining in numbers and it is great to see some new people giving it a go.

We continue to invite anyone with an interest in giving Irish dance a try or rekindling a past passion to come along to the class and join our group. We teach children and adults (separate class times), and the adult class has a range of ages in it as well as skill levels. It is a great way to get fitter and socialize with new people who come from different nationalities and experiences.

You can do 4 weeks for free with no commitment, so there is nothing to lose.

See you soon. Sean

St Patrick's Day is fast approaching (March 17th). This is the day that Ireland celebrates its culture and history and its legends.

I invite you to come along and take part in at least one class to see what we do to honour and celebrate the dancing part of Irelands history and culture.

The youngest student we have is 3.5 years of age and the oldest is 70 years of age so there is room in there for everyone of any age, gender and experience as we teach from beginner to championship level (Irish dancing is a competitive sport for those who wish to participate in competition). Not every student we have actually competes as many do it for fitness, fun or socialisation.

We have solo dancing which is where everyone starts and we also have team dancing (ceili -kaylay) which people start to do when they are not worrying so much about which direction their feet have to move. We do soft shoe and hard shoe (similar in to tap) and there is always something new to learn.

Come along when you have the time and give it a go.

See you all soon. Sean

Lessons are on again for anyone interested in the news.

Irish dancing is a competitive sport for those who wish to participate and we have just had our first event this past weekend (feis - pronounced fesh) where we were happy to see dancers from other schools in Germany and The Netherlands.

It was a smaller event than usual due to the number of positive tests that we were notified about but it was a successful weekend for Scoil (school) Rince (dance) Celtus, with may of our dancers progressing to the next level of competition and a couple of them winning their championships.

We invite anyone interested to come along and see what we do. You can experience it for fun, fitness, friendship or even competition.

Classes are taught by a fully certified Irish dance teacher of many years experience and we have students in the various locations ranging from 3.5 years of age to 70 years so there is something or some goal for everyone interested - male or female.

We look forward to welcoming you in to our world at a class very soon.

Irish Dance lessons | Scoil Rince Celtus - School of Irish Dance 28/11/2021

It is with regret that we once again have to send such a message to everyone.

Due to the new restrictions put in place by the Dutch government, we have to suspend classes in the Netherlands until we get official clearance to recommence lessons.

If you are interested in learning the basic dances then we have videos of them on our website at www.rinceceltus.com You can slow them down and follow the sequences by sitting at a laptop or desktop and moving your feet in the same sequence. The dances are learned in the following order:

Easy Reel

Light Jig

Slip Jig

Single Jig

Treble Jig

St Patricks Day

Hornpipe

Give it a go and we look forward to seeing you when we are allowed to return

Regards. Sean

Have you danced Irish dance before ? If so we would love to welcome to one of our classes. Irish dance on the European mainland is very adult friendly and we have many students in their 20s, 30s 40s and 50s who participate in classes for a variety of reasons - fun, fitness, friendship, socialisation or a desire to learn something new and different.

We teach soft shoe, hard shoe and also ceili (team) dancing to all levels and abilities for fun or if you are interested, competition (age groups up to under and over 50 at a lot of events).

The above statements also apply to anyone who has done any style of dance(ballet, tap, salsa, hip hop etc etc) and even for those who have done no dancing at all.

Check out our website at www.rinceceltus.com or www.src.dance and also the variety of pages under Scoil Rince Celtus.

Send an email and ask a question to [email protected]

We look forward to seeing some of you over the coming weeks as we don't have a specific start of the season or an end of the season. You can attend and try classes for four weeks without any commitment so you can check out if this is something you would like to do on a regular basis.

Male and female learners are welcome.
