Ultimus Prime

The day started early for UP1, having to travel all the way from The Hague to Groningen with a 11:00 o’clock first match.

First game was against GD1. UP got a break early in the game and took halftime with a substantial lead. We were ahead the entire game, but GD stepped it up and beat us on universe. End result: 12-13

The second game was against AUC1. We were able to start strong and kept our lead the entire game, we ended up winning 11-13!

Last but not least was the game against UFO1. We knew this was gonna be a tough one. We started of trading points in the first half of the game, but then UFO took the lead. It was difficult to keep up with our 4 women and 6 men against 7 women and 7 men from UFO. End result: 15-7 for UFO.

All in all a great day for UP1 because we showed we belong in the first division and that’s where we are staying! 💪🏻

Last Sunday was the second competition day of the mixed season. Ultimus Prime played in Schipluiden near Delft.

Our first game was against Airborn who came down from the first division. We knew it would be a difficult match, which definitely showed in the beginning of the game when Airborn took the lead. However, we managed to make an amazing comeback, but it was not enough to win the game. End result: 13-15

Our second game was against Panic Ultimate Frisbee Leiden. Yet another game where our opponent took the lead early, but we managed to make a comeback in the second half. Unfortunately we came up short and lost the game 9-12.

Our final game was against Force Elektro. A lot of our UP players are former Forcies so the pressure was on to win this game. We managed to play our own game and use the tactics we trained for and won the game 15-2.

Winning this last game puts us in the 7th seed which means we will go to brackets for the last competition day on October 14th!

This Sunday it’s already time for the second competition day of the mixed season!

During the first competition day, we played our first game against Ultimaas and won 15-11. Next up was BFrisBee2's which we won with 15-7. Our last opponent was UFO Frisbee Utrecht which ended in a 15-8 win for us.

Since we won all three matches we will play in the second division this Sunday! 💚💛

Yesterday Force Elektro traveled to Rijswijk to play a friendly match against us at the reopening of Sportpark Prinses Irene, where we were able to show our sport to spectators who had never seen anything like Ultimate before.

We received a lot of compliments and it was a very nice way to show how spirited our sport is.

Yesterday was the first indoor competition day and Ultimus Prime was there with two teams!

The Ultimus Prime Ladies had a very good first competition day. They clicked well and found each other very well on the field. There were some nice deep throws and the defense looked really solid! 4 wins out of 5 so next competition day will be in division 1!

The Open team, due to great support of the home crowd, managed to remain in the second division with a highly "fought" for victory against the speedy's and a well-deserved draw against rivals Force Elektro from Delft. Two games were lost against Crunch, by just one point, and the Frisbeeclub Veenendaal Tijgers who promoted to division 1.

So, overall a great competition day for Ultimus Prime!

Yesterday, Ultimus Prime competed in Meppel during the second mixed competition day. (yes Meppel, not Utrecht..)

We didn't have to wake up before the crack of dawn because, luckily, we didn't have to play the first game. However, this also meant that we didn't have any breaks in between the rest of our games.

After a proper warm up we played against BFrisBee2's and won that game. Where we saw a nice assist from Jos to Sjoerd! Unfortunately, we weren't able to beat the other teams, even though we fought hard.

We saw some great deep hucks from Pascal and J9, some awesome dump swings with the handlers against Panic Ultimate Frisbee Leiden's zone, a high release inside flick from Jonna and some great scores from Pam who showed our opponents that we have an awesome deep game.

During our game against Force Elektro we had a secret weapon; Let's confuse everyone and play with just 6 players! Don't tell us how it happened, but it won't happen again!

As expected Sarah was amazing as our captain. Especially during our fun warm ups. 😉 Just look at the pictures, that were taken by our amazing Sindy! Even though she was injured she still traveled with us to Meppel to support and motivate us from the sideline!

Even though we lost three games and only won one game, we had a great second competition day and we will remain in the third division.
