offdays is a bit of a joke. the idea came during a road trip with the team. we wanted to create an off day shoe, a sandal. and so we did. and no, we did not even bother to pour bs-marketing sauce over it in the form of a recovery concept.
so offdays is a sandal. can you run with it? well you can try. the upper is an actual remake of get lost with many adaptations. we cut holes into the upper while keeping the functional support. we took out the heel counter. we used a soft microfibre lining material combined with a canvas outer upper, supported by the iconic straps from ‘get lost’. we suggest to take an running-day off in this shoe.
tech talk.
‘road to nowhere’ outsole (replaceable), ortholite x40 eco, new midsole component ‘rise’ with 6mm drop + 3mm drop ‘joie.’ = a total of 9mm drop. super smooth ride and softer and more comfortable than any shoe we have made before. the weight is +/-295gr for a us mens 9.5 / eu43.5.
running is ugly.

team member of the month, the man of many myths, our korean-biker-legend-turned-runner. he prefers to be named ‘multiplayer’ because he takes on many roles. our korean brand director (not sure if we actually have such a title) ‘han’ . left a corporate life to get closer to the action and so han is often the lead in warm ups, social runs, marketing projects, preparations and future planning. drop by at in seoul and meet him in person. the energy he’ll transmit is contagious.

we like to keep things simple.
that’s why we name our shoes the way we do.
weekdays are for the everyday run. the one you fit in before work, after work, between everything else.
sundays are for going long. and slow. more relaxed, less time-restricted. stopping to see, hear, smell.
get lost is for when you don’t need a destination. because the best thing that can happen on a trail run is to discover something new.
simple names. shoes that just make sense.

what we do when we’re road tripping...
it sounds so cool; we’ve been on the road in california, asia, across europe multiple times and we just came back from a weekend in berlin. gradually we are increasing the amount of these road trips. it’s a great way to meet our retail partners, runners, customers, investors, competitors and in general, friends of 4T2.
but there is a thing that is happening behind the scenes.
it’s called ‘business as usual’ or in our case; ‘another meta ads crisis’, ‘design speedwork’, ‘photoshoot’, ‘store check’, ‘packing’.
when we’re road tripping, the team is. including marketing, operations, finance, design and whatever. we all are. it means before and after the running events, the team is actually working and making sure our business keeps going.
of course this is still early stage growing pains but i feel there is longterm benefit in booking an airbnb apartment and work and live together for nearly 72 hours. for sure we get to know each other when things heat up. and yes we did run two half marathons in between working and driving.
all for the love of the ugly run.

the sunday run is a special one. when it’s not race day, it’s often the day that gives you more time. to run. the sunday l*d is a well known fact, some do it alone, some share it together.
sundays as a running shoe concept is pretty straight forward; more comfort for your long run. so can it be used for anything else but the long run?
of course. it’s a 9mm drop neutral trainer and pretty versatile. it will also work for shorter runs, faster runs but its main feature is comfort and a smooth neutral ride.
good for pronators? yes as long as you are not excessively over-pronating you’r all fine. how do you know? well, if it would be a problem, you’d already know.

about a year ago dropped by at atelier 4T2 to talk about the idea to start a running apparel brand. he wanted to share his ideas, get some feedback and a little more info on do’s and don’ts when starting a new brand.
a year passes and brent shows up with , the brand he just launched and along came the first items produced. we ran an 8k/15k through our haarlem backyard joined by a very international group of runners from near and far.
another morning is launching its first products and you can order through the link in their bio.

42 hours in berlin. our tradition is that we do roadtrips and squeeze in as much as possible. sam story again. funny enough, driving the vw ebus to berlin from amsterdam is a challenge on its own (continuous charging stress).
but we made it and arrived in our pied à terre in neuköln on friday night, went straight to eat vietnamese (no party) and sleep. saturday out early to meat our friends at FML, set up tent and shoes, meet with our lovely friends and made new ones on this mad relay format by george, who btw has sooo much passion for running... everyone in berlin knows george. 🫶
saturday afternoon was clearly split by ‘photoshoot’ and ‘run through berlin’. founder ‘jay’ old legs got destroyed by nic’s desire to run the whole city. team photoshoot tradtionally kept moving around too.
you would expect saturday night to be easy going but no way, we were going to meet the baker’s dozen collective at the local italian. yes, had a beer on the bridge too.
sunday morning early, setting up shop at the tempelhof entrance and we welcomed those who were into pastries, coffee, running and baguettes. just had to run 3x7=21k to get full access. we all did and we had fun, talks, tried shoes, ate a lot, drank a lot and all got the medal.
we absolutely loved this concept which is kind of the ultimate social run while still making miles. tom’s the mastermind behind it all.
thanks all involved organising this and big hugs to everyone joining in! we’ll be back.

BAKER’S DOZEN BERLIN//A sunny Sonntag saw the Baker’s Dozen head to Europe.
Pastry-paced. No gels. No rush.
Just three slow-tempo laps of Tempelhofer Feld to earn ourselves a Finisher’s Baguette.
Half-marathon, full heart.
Thanks to everyone who helped bring a little pocket of Manchester to das feld for the weekend.

weekday runs aren’t easy. they get squeezed. they’re always messy. and it felt better than your strava stats show. weekdays are a balance of your many priorities. essential. minimal and perfectly designed. geometry redefined to serve natural foot motion.
