The ocean is calling

After the celebrations of our victory in the TWAC18 we relived our journey through the presentations we gave for companies and clubs.
Receiving the enthusiastic reactions from the audience kept the memory vivid.
It was always fun to do, especially when were with the four of us.
Unfortunately due to Covid this came to a stop.

Now only at team meetings like a BBQ or after a rowing training we share the moments on the ocean.
By this we can still tell that the ocean still lives in us, waiting for the right moment to break out.
We keep an eye open for these kind of opportunities.

Marcel, our skipper has now found a new challenge to re-live this all.
He will be joining the team NEDurance in their goal to break the world record mixed teams of 42 days.

We wish him good luck and will be following him on his journey towards the TWAC2022

We hebben jullie hulp nodig! Momenteel zijn Mark Slats en Kai Wiedmer bezig met de race van hun leven. Ze liggen aan kop in de Talker Whisky Atlantic Challenge. Met hun overtocht willen ze geld inzamelen voor kinderkankeronderzoek, via de Maarten van der Weijden Foundation. Deze laatste heeft een project geselecteerd waarbij er een vaccin ontwikkeld wordt dat kinderkanker voorkomt bij kinderen met het CMMR-D syndroom. Hiervoor is € 65.000 nodig. Er is inmiddels € 46.500 ingezameld.

A message to the Teams:

We are damn proud and jealous you will be rowing this year's 2020 Talisker Atlantic Whisky Challenge. Making it to the starting line was not easy due to these crazy times.

But now you’re here make it count! You are very privileged to be able to take on an epic journey like this. A big shout out to all the people who had to miss you when you were training your ass off or when you were in deep discussions about which bucket would be best to bring. These people make your adventure possible.

This is your moment. It’s time to show the world what the dutch are made of. But beyond all, take in all the beautiful moments at sea. Embrace every sunset. Your deepest moments will be the best stories to tell when you get across the other side.

Leave your Ego in the cabin and choose what team member you want be every time you open the hatch. Curse and sing laugh and cry. This is it! Give it all you got!

When you arrive in Antigua there will be a bottle of champagne waiting for you at Clockies on our behalf.

Last year our most effective Christmas ever. Just 30 minutes to celebrate Christmas and enjoy dinner before going back to the oars defending our lead.

This year relaxing and enjoying our family and friends.
