It was an interesting session to say the least - Carlo Bonnie guided the group through various topics in Tibetan Buddhist Philosophy in a explanatory as well as Q&A fashion, answering the questions of many newcomers and active practitioners alike; some topics of which were easier to take in for some students than others; Tibetan Buddhism, after all, at its core is also a study of truth, which can occasionally conflict with what we want and showing us what we need instead. After 1 hour of Buddhist theory, everyone proceeded into 3 guided meditation sessions - the first was a meditation focusing on breathing to practice concentration, the second meditation was to visualize the Buddha (or any other perfect being), cleansing our karma, and finally everyone meditated on the act of generosity, taking the suffering of other sentient beings into our heart and giving back all our good merit for their wellbeing. One could say, it was an enlightening afternoon :)
