What a perfect way to wrap up the fencing season! Good food, fun people…. And a surprise guest!🐈
Our annual end of the year BBQ had everything you could ask for, including a cat that casually wandered in and decided that our bucket of water was the perfect place to hydrate. We weren’t expecting an extra club member, but we will allow it! 😌
Thanks to everyone who came along! We will se you again next season! 👀🤺

And today we present to you the last board member Arnout! As always here is what Arnout wanted to share with u ☀️
Greetings!
I am Arnout van Elk! This year’s secretary of Don Quichote! I have been fencing for around 1.5 years now. I am currently working on my double’s master degree, why do I combine it with a board year? Because I am insane! But also because I want to pay back all the warmth and kindness the people of this club have shown me when I first joined! Aside from my insanity, I too, like my co-boardmembers, am an epeeist. Hopefully I see you on the piste sometimes, and otherwise over a drink while having deep conversations ;)
Cheers!

Today we will introduce Don Quichotes new treasurer to you! ☀️🤺
Here is what he wanted to tell all of you:
Hey!
I’m Kevin Buis, this year’s treasurer of Don Quichote. I’m quite new to fencing, only having fenced for about 8 months now. I am however already too invested in the sport and I absolutely love it! Ofcourse I’m fencing Epee (it’s the only real choice, lets be honest) and I’m an annoying lefty. If I’m not fencing I’m probably busy with university as I’m in my 2nd year of medicine. I can’t wait to see you all on the piste and let’s make this a great year together!

Welcome to the board presentation 1/3 🥳 today we start with our chair Valerie, Big applause! 👏🏻
Here is what Valerie wanted to share☀️:
Hey, hey!
I’m Valerie Baulig, this year’s chair of Don Quichote.
I started fencing almost two years ago and it has been with me ever since, supporting me through my bachelor’s and master’s thesis in Psychology and now into my PhD. I’m convinced that a big part of my mental sanity is thanks to fencing and I’m incredibly grateful for that.
I began with sabre but eventually switched to épée. While I like to say that both weapons have a place in my heart, opinions differ: one group lives in constant fear and denial about this statement, while the other group simply calls me a traitor.
But weapon shenanigans aside, I really love this sport and the amazing people who come with it. I’m excited to contribute my part to the club this year.
See you around - XOXO
