Hello everyone, my name is John Wortel, highly competitive powerlifter in the -93kg weight class.

When i was younger i went through some times where i thought getting bigger and stronger was the way to go, during that process i fell in love with powerlifting and managed to become a national champion and participate in 4 international competitions (soon to be 5 and 6)

During these last years as a competitive powerlifter i have helped Pjotr to handle his athletes on competitions and coached some of my own. I realised i really enjoy helping others to find their ways in powerlifting and help them achieve their goals.

So to strengthen and expand Pjotr’s Power Training, Pjotr and i decided to partner up as a coaching team.

My athlete competed at the World championships for juniors yesterday. Coming back from a big knee injury couldn't even squat 170kg, 2 months out. He made me very proud going 9/9 with a new squat pr 262,5kg bench pr 180kg deadlift 297,5kg just shy of a pr because this weight gave him the 6th place in the World. Total 740kg new total pr. Big things to come at the Europeans in December in the -93kg class. What will he do at the end of his junior years. All because he puts in the hard work and technique.

On my way to the IPF classic worlds in Suncity to play the bobo and be jury and chief referee for some prime sessions. Also televised on Eurosport. It is good I am going because will need to finetune my referee skills. For the strengthmeet on the 22nd.
I am so looking forward to see all my friends and mates again. And see the dutch team do well. And actually all the athletes from all over the world. The powerlifting family rocks.Safe travels everyone.
