Make a Woodland Witch Hat From Red Autumn Leaves
What you need: Flexible red autumn maple leaves in several sizes, lightweight cardstock, cardboard for the brim, a tape measure, pencil, scissors, masking tape, craft glue, a brush, flexible craft wire and paper strips.
How to make it: Measure the wearerβs head and make a hollow cardstock cone with a comfortable opening. Cut a broad cardboard brim with a matching central hole. Cut tabs around the coneβs lower edge, pass the cone through the brim and glue the tabs underneath. Secure a paper-wrapped wire extension inside the top and bend it into a curved tip. Cover the brim with larger red leaves, then work upward around the crown in overlapping rows, using smaller leaves near the tip. Keep the inside opening clear and let the glue dry completely before wearing the hat.
