Mercรฉdes is a professional dancer, with a background in classical ballet. She has danced around the world and started teaching barre back in 2018. She is a certified American Barre Technique instructor as well as a 200 hour yoga teacher.What makes her passionate about barre is that this workout is really a mix of one of the best worlds combined- ballet inspired movements, pilates and stretching. Great if you want to get strong and lean muscles!โฃ

Together with my barre partner in crime Anna we decided to develop outdoor classes. โฃ
I met Anna last summer during one of my barre classes. A calming, beautiful vision as soon as she walks in the room. We instantly connected and became dear friends- she is one of a kind to me; with a background in Mathematics and Economics, she is teaching at Erasmus university, yet with such a curiosity for everything. It is truly special that she is so passionate about barre and shares the same ideas about creating a barre community and how that would look like.โโฃ

Did you know that rest is essential for muscle growth. Exercise creates microscopic tears in your muscle tissue. But during rest, cells called fibroblasts repair it. This helps the tissue heal and grow, resulting in stronger muscles ๐ช๐ผ โฃ

Nah!โฃ
Especially not when itโs high- intensity or heavy on the joints and muscles. โฃ

You can however combine your routine with low- impact workouts, and stretching! โฃ
