🏐 Players wanted for National Recreational Mix Competition 2026/2027

Hi volleyball players,

The Smashing Expats XR1 became champion this season, which means we have officially secured a spot in the National Recreational Mix Competition / Top Poule for season 2026/2027.

This level is higher than the regular Poule A and is suitable for players who want to play more competitive recreational volleyball.

We are now checking whether we can build a strong and committed team for this competition.

What we are looking for:

✅ Male and female players
✅ Especially male players are welcome
✅ Good recreational / intermediate+ / advanced level
✅ Reliable availability for competition games
✅ Access to a car for traveling to away games
✅ Positive team mindset

The competition includes teams from places such as Delft, Pijnacker, Boskoop/Waddinxveen, Vianen, Leiderdorp, Leiden, and Sassenheim. Most games are therefore outside Rotterdam, so commitment and travel flexibility are important.

Training is expected to be on Mondays in Rotterdam. Competition games are usually played on Thursday evenings.

This is not yet a final team selection. We first want to see whether there are enough committed and suitable players to make this option realistic.

🏐 Trainer / Assistant Trainer Wanted for Monday Trainings

Hi everyone,

For the 2026/2027 season, The Smashing Expats are looking for a trainer or assistant trainer for our Monday evening volleyball trainings in Rotterdam.

We are an international mixed volleyball group with players who want to improve, stay active, and enjoy volleyball in a positive group atmosphere.

What we are looking for:

✅ Available at least 2 Mondays per month
✅ Able to help with volleyball training and player development
✅ Positive, clear, and supportive coaching style
✅ English or Dutch speaking
✅ Trainer experience is welcome, but motivated assistant trainers are also welcome

The session is 2 hours in total:

🏐 1.5 hours training
🏐 0.5 hour playing games with the Expats

We can offer a volunteer allowance.

It is also possible to do this together with a friend or another trainer you already know, for example by alternating Mondays or coaching together.

Are you an expat, Erasmus student, or international professional living in (or moving to) the Rotterdam region? Do you love volleyball and want to join a fun, competitive, and international team? We are looking for volleyball players to join us for the next season!

🌍 About Us
The Smashing Expats is a mixed volleyball club with players from all over the world. Many of us are in the Netherlands for work, study, or exchange programs — and some have made the Netherlands their long-term home. We play in the recreational competition, but make no mistake: our level is competitive, and we love to challenge ourselves!

📅 Season Details
Season period: 1 September 2025 - 30 April 2026

Competition: Recreational league, mixed teams (always 3 women on court)

Training + matches:
We train and play during weekday evenings (no weekends!).
Home games are scheduled on the same evenings as our training sessions.

Away games are also held on weekdays, so your weekends are completely free!

📍 Locations
We train in Rotterdam Zuid (south) at two locations:
Sporthal Bloemhof – Putseplein 20, Rotterdam
Gym Tarwesterk – Zwartewaalstraat 38, Rotterdam

We welcome players who:
✅ Love volleyball and enjoy a challenge
✅ Want to be part of an international, welcoming community
✅ Can commit to training and matches on weekday evenings
