In 1951, a new race emerged: the 100-mile race, better known as the Bruine Bank Race. This race ran from Hook of Holland, around a buoy on the Bruine Bank, to IJmuiden. The purpose of this initially annual race was to promote the sport of sea sailing in the Netherlands while giving participants the opportunity to qualify for North Sea Club membership. Samen met de mannen van ‘de werf’ , André en Jeroen, in Scheveningen vandaag de saildrive seal (de rubberen ring die voorkomt dat er water in de boot komt via de motor aandrijving ) vervangen van Lucifer. Ik ben een hele lijst leermomenten rijker… dank mannen!
