It’s a true privilege to be here in Malmö, connecting with the handball family at the EHF Grassroots Convention. I’m really looking forward to sharing my thoughts and experiences during my lecture and panel discussion tomorrow!

The second EHF Grassroots Convention, "Grow the game: building athletes, leaders and ambassadors", organised by the EHF, is to be held in Malmö Arena Hotel on 22 and 23 January 2026. The one-and-a-half-day programme includes a networking event on the first evening. The EHF Grassroots Convention, which comes two years after the inaugural edition in 2024, will once again run alongside the European Championship.

The event, which will bring together people from all over Europe to talk all about the latest developments, initiatives and innovations around grassroots sports, will be held on the fringes of the Men's EHF EURO 2026 in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. All the presentations, keynotes and panels at the two-day event in the Swedish city of Malmö will fall under the following topics:

-youth academies and best practice models
-athlete development pathways
-grassroots development strategies
-mental health and injury prevention
-women in leadership
