SENSEI’S NOTEBOOK — No. 005 | Mokuso (黙想)

In karate, training does not begin with a punch or a kick.

It begins with silence.

Before we move, we sit. We close our eyes, steady our breathing, and allow the distractions of the outside world to fade.

黙想 — Mokuso.
A moment of quiet reflection.

We practise it before training to prepare the mind, and afterward to reflect on what we have learned.

Because karate is not only about developing physical strength. It is about cultivating awareness, patience, self-control, and the ability to remain composed when everything around us is moving.

True discipline is not always expressed through action. Sometimes, it is found in stillness.

We spend years learning how to move.

Perhaps part of karate is also learning when not to.

What has silence taught you that training alone could not?

The ambition to be the best.

The discipline to earn it.

Early mornings. Endless repetitions.

Holding each other to a higher standard.

Finding strength in those beside us.

Until the work becomes a moment we share.

Welcome to the Kyokushin Fight Academy.

A place where we teach with love, lead with passion, and grow together with respect.

More than a dojo. More than martial arts. We are a family built on trust, friendship, discipline, and the belief that everyone deserves a place to belong.

Here, we celebrate every little victory, support each other through every challenge, and create memories that last a lifetime.

Our dojo is our House of Happiness. A place where friendships are born, confidence grows, and everyone is welcomed with open arms.

Because at the Kyokushin Fight Academy, we don’t just build strong fighters. We build strong people, beautiful friendships, and a family for life.

Osu! ❤️
