Kijk eens naar deze flow van mijn buitenlandse collega's. Dat is wat het dansen van Son Cubano Moderno zo bijzonder maakt. Anders dan on1 of on2 salsa dansen dans je echt in de muziek, je hoeft je niet te haasten. Geen uitgebreide draaien maar elegantie en romantiek.

Ik moet eerlijk zijn, er is een persoonlijke reden om Son Cubano Moderno te promoten. Ik wil deze stijl op feestjes kunnen dansen en op dit moment is dat bijna onmogelijk. Mijn interesse in Son Moderno Cubano begon rond 2017 en ik werd een volger van Danger en Yunaisy op Cubaanse festivals. Voor mij was het een logische voortzetting van de Son-stijl die ik al danste.

Omdat ik geloof dat je goed voorbereid moet zijn om lessen te geven, ging ik naar Spanje en heb mij laten certificeren om deze stijl te kunnen onderwijzen. Net als toen ik begon met Cubaanse Salsa les te geven.
Momenteel ben ik de enige in de Benelux die gecertificeerd is, maar er zijn behoorlijk wat collega's in Duitsland, Frankrijk, Engeland en andere locaties in Europa.
In ieder geval nodig ik jullie allemaal uit om dit weekend deel te nemen aan onze bootcamp Son Cubano Moderno en een andere manier te ervaren om de muziek te dansen die je op feestjes hoort.

Even nog wat antwoorden op vragen die ik krijg:
Het is een 2-daagse bootcamp, omdat ik echt wil dat mensen deze stijl gaan dansen. Het zou een hele uitdaging zijn om alle stof in 1 dag te absorberen.
De eerste dag gaat over Son, Contratiempo en de Cubaanse Son-dansstijl. De tweede dag gaat over Son Cubano Moderno en het versterken van de kennis van de eerste dag.

I have to be absolutely honest, there is a personal reason to promote Son Cubano Moderno. I want to be able to dance this style at parties and right now that is next to impossible. My interest in Son Moderno Cubano started around 2017 and I became a follower of Danger and Yunaisy at Cuban Festivals. For me it was a logical progression of the Son style which I already was dancing.
I believe that you should be well prepared, if you want to teach people. That is why I went to Spain and got myself certified to be able to teach this style, just like I did when I started to teach Cuban Style Salsa. Currently I am the only one in the Benelux who is certified, but there quite a number of colleague's in Germany, France, England and other locations in Europe.
Anyway I invite you all to come join our bootcamp Son Cubano Moderno this weekend and experience an different way to dance the music you hear at parties.

In response to some questions I am getting:
It is a 2 day bootcamp, because I really want people to start dancing this style. Absorbing al the material in 1 day would be very challenging.
The first day will be about Son, Contratiempo and the Cuban Son dancestyle. The second day will be about Son Cubano Moderno and strengthening the knowledge of the first day.

Son Cubano is a wonderful music style that developed around the turn of the 19 century and is a mayor influence on what we now call Salsa. Most people know Cuban Son from Chan Chan by Buena Vista Social Club.

Son music has gone through an evolution and more than ever is a part of the Salsa scene with performers like Leonie Torres and Alexander Abreu, which means that at most parties you will hear Son being played.

Son Cubano is een fantastische muziek stijl die tot ontwikkeling kwam in de 19e eeuw en aan de grondslag ligt van de Salsa. De meeste mensen kennen de Son van het liedje Chan Chan van Buena Vista Social Club.

De Son als muziek stijl heeft net als de Salsa een ontwikkeling meegemaakt en is nog steeds een groot onderdeel van de Salsa scene met artiesten zoals Leonie Torres en Alexander Abreu.
Dit betekent dat we tijdens Salsa feesten nog veel Son te horen krijgen.
