The IICI trains investigators in the knowledge necessary to investigate war crimes and other serious violations of international humanitarian law.

The Institute fills a significant gap in international criminal justice processes by providing dedicated training in the additional skills needed to investigate genocide, war crimes, crimes against humanity and egregious human rights violations. Further, access to a well-trained pool of investigation professionals is vital to ensuring a timely response to international crimes as they are occurring
