And as she spoke, I saw the pattern so clearly.
It wasn’t about the job. It wasn’t about pressure.

For years, she grew up in a home where mistakes weren’t safe.

So her mind learned to survive by staying one step ahead by predicting, perfecting, overthinking.

You call this exhaustion. But really, it’s protection.
I remember when I realised this for myself, when rest stopped working. I was doing all the right things: morning meditations, weekend breaks, digital detoxes.
But inside, my body was still braced, waiting for the next problem to solve, the next thing to go wrong.
This isn't a lack of discipline. That’s a nervous system that has forgotten how to feel safe in calm.

You’re told to be more confident, speak up more, or just put yourself out there.
And then… you’re sent on your way.
No tools. No nervous system safety. No space to unpack what’s really holding you back.
The advice sounds empowering, but without addressing the root cause, it often leaves people feeling even more inadequate than before
It’s like telling a runner to be faster without ever checking if their knees are injured.
Corporate cultures that reward the performance of confidence, the loudest voice, the most visible presence while quietly neglecting the deeper kind of confidence that's rooted in safety and self-trust

Confidence isn’t a switch you flip, it’s a muscle you build. And you can’t build it in an environment where it isn’t safe to be human 💡
