Green Office UU The Green Office is where fresh minds and hands come together to support Utrecht University’s sust However, there is always more than can be done.

We are platform for students and employees of Utrecht University (UU) where sustainable ideas come together and plans are sharpened, with the objective to make the university more sustainable. We also enhance the awareness of students and staff about the sustainable ambitions of the UU. Many activities already take place at the UU on the topic of sustainability. In order to let students and staff participate in this process, the UU founded the Green Office in 2013, with the help of SOON. The Green Office focuses on the following tasks:

- We organize several events and campaigns which aim to improve sustainability at UU, according to four themes (Mobility, Circularity, Food, and Biodiversity).

- We provide an overview of all the ongoing activities and of all the people within the university who are involved on the topic of sustainability.

- The Green Office provides support to transform ideas of students and staff into running projects. The support provided can be finances, advice, or the Green Office network.

- The Green Office wants to close the gap between students, staff and the university itself. Creating a more sustainable world will not happen by itself; we have to do it together!

Join us for a Changemakers session led by Chip, an organiser at Toekomstboeren!
Toekomstboeren is the Dutch agroecological association that makes the growing and flourishing agro-ecological movement visible. They represent the interests of (small-scale) farmers in order to bring closer the future of a widely supported, sustainable and socially just agriculture, based on the principles of agro-ecology and food sovereignty. Chip works especially hard to create space for more young, q***r farmers in Dutch agriculture! 
We will learn about agroecology and how it supports you, make a map of the agroecological farms around you, and discover how you can make a difference.

Calling all nature lovers 🌳

Have you visited Amelisweerd recently? It is a beautiful forest very close to the university campuses. However, did you know we're only able to enjoy this calm and lovely piece of nature is thanks to decades of activism spanning back to the 1960s? If you're curious to learn more about this history, we invite you to our upcoming Changemakers session with Jos Kloppenborg who has been active in defending Amelisweerd since 1976 as a board member of Vrienden van Amelisweerd, chair of Kerngroep Ring Utrecht, and chair of Milieucentrum Utrecht (since 2018).
