Iron House is more than a gym. It is a second home to our dedicated community to lifters and athletes. It is the place where we train, learn and grow together.
We started Iron House Co. because we were unsatisfied with the commercial gym options that has saturated the Dutch fitness market. Though we believe there is nothing wrong with the commercial gym format, they do not provide the equipment and environment for intense fitness. We also missed the sense of community and group support that we believe belong in a gym. So, we decided to fix this problem.

I don't know exactly what was going through head at this moment, but I like to think he is thinking about how proud he is of himself and all the consistent hard work he puts in. Like so many of our awesome members. I'd like to think that this is the face of a person in his happy place. Yeah, that's definitely what this photo looks like to me 🔥

Our Iron Athlete Simone recently competed in her second powerlifting competition: bench nationals.
This is what she had to say about Roy’s coaching:
The NK Bench was a really great experience and definitely one I look back on with a good feeling!
During the competition, I was able to fully focus on lifting. Roy had planned the warm-ups perfectly and made sure the attempts were realistic and well-suited to me. Because of that, I didn’t have to think about anything myself. Combined with his calm and composed presence, this helped a lot when my nerves started to build.
In the preparation, I received clear feedback on the videos I submitted and there was enough variation in the exercises to keep improving in a focused way. What I also really appreciated was how Roy took my sometimes busy schedule during clinical rotations into account. Training days were flexible — sometimes training a bit less, or being able to go all out in the weekend with an SBD day, which worked really well for me.
All in all, I benefited greatly from Roy’s coaching and I look back on both the preparation and competition day with a very positive feeling!
Were really proud of Simone’s performance and she managed to take the gold medal home 🥇
I meeeaaan from our resident Strongman and strongman class instructor I shouldn't be too surprised by his list 🤣. But the strongman implements make this a very strong and functional list! Could you live with this list if you had to? Or would you have to have something else?

Here's what each coach will be focusing on during their S+C classes for March! For March we will be taking a fun new approach to the Strength and Conditioning classes, y'all! Each coach will have a specific theme/focus during their classes. This will allow us to add a little bit more progression and skill development throughout the month! You can also check the focus 'schedule' on the screens in the gym!
All good things come to an end, especially when your checking staff does a much better job than you do 🤣. I don't know if it's normal for the owner and operator of a gym to be hands on for 10 years but working one in one with people is one of the most fulfilling things you can do. But so is setting up others to experience the same thing.
And what better way to spend my last PT/coaching session than with someone who has become a close cherished friend. You coaches out there know exactly what I'm talking about.
