The style of the people of our region is also truly unique!

First we build mosques, temples, shrines, statues of gods and other religious buildings. Often these buildings are built much stronger, taller and safer than the houses of the poor people whose money they are built with.

Then a flood, earthquake or other natural disaster strikes. The weak houses of the poor are the first to be destroyed, while religious buildings often remain standing.

At this point we do not ask why our houses were built so weakly? Why was there no proper planning? And who is responsible for this destruction?

Instead we proudly spread pictures and videos of the surviving religious buildings and say:

“Look, the power of Allah, God or Bhagwan!”

But one obvious fact should not be forgotten: these buildings were also built by humans, with human money, human-made materials and human engineering.

Perhaps the real miracle would be that we build the homes of the poor with the same strength, safety, and care.
