⛳ Course Update

A post and rope system has now been installed at the bottom of the hill up to the green on Hole 3, to help encourage traffic to the right-hand side of the area.

This measure has been introduced to reduce wear and tear on the slope and support improved playing conditions in one of the most heavily trafficked areas of the course.

If your ball lands in this area, we kindly ask that you leave your trolley on the right hand side and walk across to play your shot.

I helgen ble Fana Best Ball gjennomført med et stort startfelt på 100 spillere!

Til tross for litt vekslende vær ble det en veldig fin dag, og det ble levert noen solide scorer ⛳️

Bunker presentation ⛳️

Our bunkers will be raked and presented in the style shown, creating a consistent and fair playing surface throughout the course.

This presentation features a firmer, flatter surface on the bunker faces with a raked area at the base. The design encourages the golf ball to strike the face and roll down into the prepared sand, away from the steep edge of the bunker.

The result is a fairer and more playable recovery shot, while also improving the overall presentation and consistency of the bunkers.

Today (18/05) marks the first day this year that our soil temperatures have risen above 10°C, a key milestone for Creeping Bentgrass growth.

The ideal soil temperature for Creeping Bent greens growth is between 10–18°C, and the impact has been immediate. Over the past three days, clip yield has increased significantly from approximately 1L per green to 7L per green. Alongside this, we have seen a reduction in green speed, with Stimp readings dropping to 9.1ft, and a decrease in firmness, with Clegg Hammer values falling to 98g.

In response to these changing growth conditions, we are now transitioning fully into our summer maintenance programme:
• Daily cutting and rolling
• Lowering height of cut to 4mm (3.5mm soon after)
• Introducing Primo to regulate vertical growth and improve surface consistency

These adjustments will help us deliver the high-quality summer putting surfaces we expect over the coming week.

Our summer target performance metrics:
• Stimp: 9.5–9.75ft
• Clegg: 105–110g

Seasonal change is now fully underway, and the greens are responding exactly as anticipated.
