The beginner's course at Bergen Historiske Kampsportklubb continues! We have many new ones, over 15, and they are progressing well.
This video shows the concept of the center line, and how to utilize it in a duel. One attack is one the line (straight forward) while the other attack is off the line (to the left or right).
A strong focus on footwork is also emphasized, since footwork is the basis of sword fighting!

Some of our members tried out longsword at Bergen HEMA last week!

While our sport is not HEMA, some fundamentals like footwork can be applicable to both. Cross-training in any regard is great for combat sports.

The beginner's course continues at Bergen Historiske Kampsportklubb! ⚔⚔

Foundational building blocks are being honed: footwork, distance, the center line, and of course, striking properly with swords!

We have over 10 new beginners - and with 18 veteran members, we are often almost above capacity at trainings!

We're all looking forward to another exciting semester!

Special thanks to our veterans who are turning out to help teach the new ones.

Didn't you want to always learn how to fight with swords?
You can at Bergen Historical Kampsportklubb!
We teach the single sword as a foundational block to learn historical combat.
Good thing they are blunt!
