We look back with great pleasure on a rich and inspiring week of masterclasses and concerts in Bergen from 24–28 May!
The masterclasses were led by Leif Ove Andsnes, Bertrand Chamayou, Håvard Gimse, and Christian Ihle Hadland, bringing together outstanding young pianists for an intensive week of learning and artistic exchange.
The masterclasses took place at the Rasmussen Samlingene, while the closing concert on 28 May, featuring works by György Kurtág and Olivier Messiaen, was held in the University Aula as part of the Bergen International Festival – Festspillene i Bergen. Later that same afternoon, several of the students also performed on the outdoor stage at the Festival square.
We would like to thank all participants for their dedication and artistry: Ariana Hernandez Vera (Mexico), Herman Pellbäck (Sweden), Lewis Yuheng Fang (Canada), Nikita Khnykin (Norway), Sunah Kim (South Korea), Yenfei Wang (Taiwan), and Zhu Wang (China).
As this year’s Bergen International Festival comes to a close, we would like to send our thanks for another inspiring collaboration. We are also grateful to the Rasmussen Samlingene and all our supporters for helping make these masterclasses possible.
