Align Racing UiA

This year, we were able to give Tom’s bus its own Align Racing UiA livery, making it an even bigger part of our team identity on the road.

Every year, Tom Terjesen joins us on our journey and drives us to competitions across Europe. We are incredibly grateful that he chooses to spend his summer with us and be such an important part of the Align Racing family. His kindness and positivity make every journey something special.

We truly appreciate the time he gives us and that we get to use his bus every summer.

Day 3 of Formula Student Austria is complete, and the day was dedicated to the three static events: Business Plan Presentation, Engineering Design, and Cost and Manufacturing. Together, these events account for just over 30 percent of the total competition score.

We started the day with the Business Plan Presentation, followed by Engineering Design, where we presented our car to the judges, before wrapping up with the Cost event.
Once all the static events had been completed, it was finally time to head out onto the Red Bull Ring for our official team photos.

We weren’t the only Norwegian team competing this year, Revolve NTNU also made the trip to Austria, and we wrapped up the photo session by bringing both teams together for a few group photos.

Day 2 at Formula Student Austria is complete, and we’re finally settled into our pit at the Red Bull Ring.

The day started with dismantling the temporary pit we had set up at the campsite before moving into our garage at the Red Bull Ring. From there, it was all about preparing for the different scrutineering sessions.

After setting up our pit, we headed straight into our scheduled technical scrutineering while accumulator scrutineering was taking place at the same time. We successfully passed accumulator scrutineering, and although we ran into a few issues during both mechanical and electrical scrutineering, we’re confident we’ll resolve them and pass in the coming days.

Day 1 at Formula Student Austria is complete, and we’re officially underway on Align Racing UiA’s first ever trip to Formula Student Austria

After arriving the night before, we set up our campsite, including a temporary pit where we’ll be working on the car until we gain access to our official pit at the Red Bull Ring. Today, we attempted pre inspection and accumulator scrutineering, and we’ll continue the process tomorrow.

The rest of the day was all about getting started. From preparing the car for scrutineering to making sure the entire team has everything needed for the week ahead, we’ve spent the day laying the groundwork for the competition, ending it by attending the official Formula Student Austria opening ceremony.
