Being present as my father Papaji, received his last breath was an extremely sad yet powerfully sacred experience.
We tend to forget the power of our breath on a daily basis. We don’t stop to think about it, do we ? What it represents. What it contains. That it is the river that carries our life force … Prana. Without which simply the sacred vessel remains.
Spirit departed as Papaji exhaled. Surrounded & literally held in Love.
Receive the next inhale, filled with Prana, life force. Pause for a second or two. Exhale gently with gratitude for this precious gift of Life. Pausing to remember what is truly important.

Simply zooming in and out .
Seeing magic in a rain drop.
Patterns and textures in nature that make me pause….. inspiring me to create. Sometimes we see life more clearly….. Slowing down is a practice that helps us to see the magic that is always within and around us….. but we keep forgetting.
I had a nice walk in the rain.
Happy Sunday!

What do you feel when you see this painting?
Something?
Nothing?
You don’t know?
Does it resonate with you or not ? Do you like the colors, the texture or the composition? Or is it just too much ? This is the beauty of the creative process …. Like with life , we are all walking this path in our own unique way … we all have a signature way / style or imprint. Things evolve. Nothing stays the same.
Trying to discover, uncover and reveal who we are underneath all the stories we tell ourselves, or have been led to believe ….
This is our Work.
Through movement, stillness ,creativity & rest.
Working on ourselves, first. The Practice is never ending.
We are not going to resonate with everyone, but there are those who will understand our way of being, thinking & doing. Finding community is vital for our healing & wellness.
Receiving the next breath with love and gratitude for the Gift of this Life.
Take good care of yourself & do something that makes you feel….. & remember.

Devotional practice today is based on my observation that I am on my phone a lot. Yes, we need our phones etc because all our info etc is on our devices but …… it does seem overwhelming at times as we get swallowed into something we feel we can’t control.
So , as part of my self care and devotion , I have decided to not look at my phone first thing in the morning. Instead simply enjoy my coffee and breathe, look at my view , surroundings & communicate with those around me.
I am also after being inspired by Elena Brower to limit social media to 10 min slots , morning, afternoon & evening. I am going to try this and see how I feel. How does my life shift ? What will I discover ? Let’s see … I am sure this might be difficult at first but most things usually are, aren’t they? Curious. How much of your life do you devote to your phone …. ? And how does it really make you feel? What could you do with your precious life instead? Ok, my 10 minutes for the morning slot is up ! Be gentle with yourself .

Do you see the idea of a cocoon on the tree and a butterfly?? That’s where it all began ….. where it will go , I still do not know. Creative practice for me represents my life. The procrastination, the uncertainty, the not being good enough stage: phase . The just do it phase because life is too short and fragile kicks in at times too!
We forget.
We don’t always have to follow others ways of doing things, being or seeing. We know so much , but that too we have forgotten. Trying to remember and reconnect with the bodies inner wisdom for wholeness. The body , our beautiful body is communicating with us all the time… the pain too is a language we must understand in order to heal.
Constantly trying to find balance. For a little while at least! Our Work is taking care of ourselves first …. Body , mind and beautiful spirit/heart.

Impermanence.Transitions. When I create ,I play. I explore. I try to tune in to my life … my heart as it feels right now …. I make marks, I allow myself to make a mess & I explore colors. I don’t focus on what the outcome will be. I love to be lead intuitively to the next scene …. Then I pause.
I listen & feel into what I wish to communicate. The conversation is with myself first … Maybe you feel something too as you experience my art? We all have a different language/resonance and that is why some will like and appreciate your style, your marks or your words & others will not.
It is all just fine.
Simply trying to be ourselves is our Work. With love ❤️ & gratitude,
Gurjinder x

I have been playing in my art studio this morning… exploring, releasing & listening.
Thinking about attachment. How we all, at times, hold tightly to people, places and things. It can make us feel comforted grounded,as though these attachments somehow will keep us safe, happy & well. But life continues to shift, change and evolve.Nothing is truly ours to hold onto forever as we all know….. but tend to forget … again & again.
Through my yoga and art practice, I keep returning to the lesson of non attachment. Learning to soften my grip. To trust the unfurling.
Sometimes when I’m creating , I add or take away parts of the painting that I have spent time working on… layers I thought I loved. There is actually something freeing & exciting when I allow myself to add, remove or change the direction the painting was going in.
To let the painting kind of reveal itself to me ! It sometimes feels like that .
It feels like a conversation with myself… tuning into the marks, the colours, the composition starts to emerge. I try not to force an outcome.
Art has become a way of reconnecting to my emotions … of moving through grief, healing, uncertainty and transformation.
Not entirely sure where this painting is going… but I’m learning that not knowing is also part of the process. And then , I smile… receive a beautiful deep breath & pop upstairs for a lovely cup of coffee .
Much love ❤️ & gratitude 🙏🏽 for it all ! This beautiful gift of Life.
