What a fantastic day we’ve had at Horton Rugby Club! We proudly hosted the Rugby Sevens NMs (Norges Mesters) Championship on our beautifully prepared pitch. With five men’s teams— including our very own Horton Sevens squad, plus teams from Sandefjord, Blindern, NTNU, and Sagene— and two women’s teams from Horton and Sagene, the competition was fierce and the energy was through the roof!

The rugby was great with players travelling far and wide. We had youth players and players trying out for the first time in new positions. We were blessed with glorious weather, a mouth-watering barbecue, baguettes, and plenty of coffee, cake, and juice to keep everyone energized.

Our day began on a heartfelt note as we remembered Emil, a dear member of the Norwegian rugby family, with a moving speech from Filip Naparty.

Later, after the rugby action and wins from the men’s NTNU team and the women’s Sagene team, we dressed up for an incredible buffet dinner - thank you Trine Lill for organising.

The day was capped off by watching Fiji vs. Wales and South Africa vs. England in the Nations Championship at the clubhouse. And of course, we handed out Horton ties to our guest players so they can always remember this amazing day with us!
