Since the last post we have found ourselves in rivers, lakes and the sea with Atlantic salmon being in main focus. There are plenty of salmon in the river but getting them to bite is proving to be very challenging. Despite this we are catching some and losing some as well.

The special catches recently have been both this tadpole fish and landlocked Atlantic salmon.

Though there is one thing that makes me sad, and that is not having the time to take everyone fishing. At the moment there are so many people calling everyday wanting guiding but August has been pretty much fully booked the last 4 months. So please for August book well in advance or even better come fishing outside of the busy period.

My goodness it's been a month since the last social media post! We prefer to be by the water guiding fishing crazy souls than here, but realize that it at times has to be done.

The last month has been very busy guiding billionaires, multi-millionaires, millionaires, and 'normal' people too from all over the world here in Southern Norway. Regardless of their economic standing, all have been absolutely lovely and shared some memorable moments in nature.

There are many highlights, too many to list but a 92cm pollack on the fly for this chap from Uruguay is up there. The 2nd biggest pollack ever to visit the boat and the biggest on the fly!

The fish in the sea these last weeks has been very good with many fish and some large examples each trip. The salmon fishing has been very difficult as it normally is at this time of the year, and trout and perch being plentiful.

Very busy times ahead though there are still available days in between...

It's been a week of not only lots of fish at sea but the bigger ones chose to visit us in the boat.

A couple from Switzerland got to experience pulling up cusk and ling from 220m deep, then eating them for lunch on an island.

A Norwegian group caught plenty of cod, pollack and coalfish with the biggest pollack of 85cm!

And not forgetting an American group with again impressive catches.

A new busy week ahead with hoping equally as good catches!

The fishing is great at the moment even though the weather isn't at times!

Each trip our welcome guests are catching over 60 fish every half day (4hrs). Unfortunately we've lost some big fish that after powerful runs have 'self released' themselves and returned to the depths.

Our future guests have some great sport to look forward to and we still have some openings for more people, so do get in touch!

These last weeks new and old friends from the USA, Germany, Belgium and the Netherlands have gotten to experience the excellent fishing in May.

From deep sea fishing for ling and cusk, to inshore fishing for cod, pollack and coalfish, and not forgetting hiking in the forest for wild brown trout. There have been plenty of fish, nature experiences, and food enjoyed with beautiful views.

We've plenty of bookings these next weeks but still a few spaces for those who would like to experience some lifelong magical moments!

The weather has been amazing these last weeks, crazy amounts of fish, hardly any waves, and many customers that have gotten to experience these wonderful conditions.

As many coalfish as you want to catch, and some respectable sizes too (for Southern Norway), some pollack and quite a few cod thankfully, and some sea trout.

We go into a quiet two weeks now before the very busy period begins and dates are filling up fast now. So if you're thinking of booking, do it before the spaces are gone!

NEW ANGLERPILOT MARKETING FILM

It's taken a while to create but it was high time for a short 1min film showing the wonderful fishing experiences one can expect with AnglerPilot.

During this last period we have had groups from the Ukraine, Finland, Germany and Norway.

The sea trout fishing has been amazing and some of the best we have experienced for many years. Like this father and son got to experience catching their first ever salmonoids, two sea trout each.

Otherwise we have seen lots of fish on the fish finder but they been slow to bite. With that said we've caught many cod, pollack and coalfish.

We now go towards our busy period and many bookings. So please do not wait too long as August for example is almost fully booked already!

We have a passionate drive for guiding and continual self development, that's why at least once a year we get guided by other professional fishing guides.

Last year it was trout in Milano, Italy and then the year before that grayling in North Wales. This year we took the trip up to Stavanger, Norway and Stavanger Adventure - https://www.stavangeradventure.com/fishing-tours-stavanger

Espen Haaland in his new boat took me out into the fjords around Stavanger, deep sea fishing for sharks, bottom fishing for flatfish, and midwater fishing for pollack. We manage to achieve all goals with some lovely examples.

It was a wet and rainy day but we found shelter on an island where Espen cooked up a fresh lunch with haddock, part of our catch and Norwegian root vegetables. Then washed down with a freshly brewed coffee.

By being inclusive and lifting up others, we want to highly recommend Stavanger Adventures if you find yourself wanting to experience fishing here or hiking the hills around!

These last weeks in Southern Norway the sea trout fishing really has taken off with 10 to 20+ fish per trip.

Sea trout fishing can be tough at times but with the right knowledge to choice of place, lure/fly, how the weather influences the fish, etc can one succeed.

After almost 25 years passionately hunting these fish, 12 years as a professional fishing guide, and lots of good tips and advice from other accomplished sea trout fishers, it's time to share what I have learnt.
