Underwater Narvik

9 April marks the anniversary of the German invasion of Norway during Operation Weserübung.
In Narvik, this date carries special weight. The town became the center of intense fighting during the Battles of Narvik, which began with the surprise German landing on this very day in 1940.
Today we remember those who fought, those who fell, and the resilience of the people who lived through these events.

The Polish Navy destroyer Grom at full speed, May 1937.

ORP Grom was the lead ship of her class. Destroyer served in Polish Navy from 1937 to 1940, when was bombed during her operations in the Norwegian Campaign and sunk in the Rombaken fjord near Narvik.
