True strength is built from the ground up 💪🏽
Look closely at the foundation here…
By intentionally pressing into the outer edges of the feet, we change the entire architecture of the glute bridge- so by shifting the load to the pinky-toe edge of the foot, we send a signal straight UP the leg, activating the lateral kinetic chain.
When we combine that pinky-edge foot drive with the outward resistance of the loop band, we target the glute medius + deep hip stabilizers which are muscles crucial for pelvic alignment that ordinary bridges often bypass.
And an added bonus to this type of bridge, is that we also correct the common daily habit of collapsing into the inner arches when walking/standing.

We are so happy to introduce: Restorative deep yin on Sundays at 17:00 at Bikram Yoga Oslo.
Warm. Deep. Slow.
And instead of asking for full effort, we now as for full embodiment
Allowing yourself to lean in + feel slow holds, stillness & focused work in the micro fascia, the connective tissue that runs through every system in your body & holds far more than most people realise.
This isn’t a rest day class.
It’s a different kind of work.
The kind that lets your hot room practice land deeper.
This class will be run initially as a 4 week trial on Sundays and if it lands in your bodies… then it stays

Flexibility of the mind & body isn’t given.
It’s earned.
You build it the same way you build everything worth having by showing up, doing the hard thing, & not quitting when it gets uncomfortable.
In this room, that means heat, sweat, and your mind telling you to stop while your body keeps going.
You will sweat.
You will shake.
You will want to come out early. Don’t.
That’s where you discover what you’re actually capable of.
See you on the mat-let’s level up together

This photo was taken straight after class- Pippa was 8 months pregnant & that glow? Hard to say if that’s the hot room or the pregnancy. Probably both. 😜
Pippa has been part of the BYO community for years… showing up for herself - she runs , a coworking space for women right here in Oslo. The kind of person who builds community wherever she goes.
Her daughter was born mid April & was back on the mat mid October- still showing up.
One of the things about our studio is that it’s so much more than a training ground for the mind & body… it’s a bubbling community that still after 15 years has its arms wide open for all.
All you’ve gotta do is show up ;)

Do you want to do yoga in a hot room, or do you want to do hot yoga?”
Our student Homa said that to me in passing yesterday.
She’s been coming to BYO long enough to know the difference.
This is what the difference looks like.
A teacher who knows your body, your patterns, your limits & when to nudge you gently past them… & student who has been showing up every week for fifteen years and makes everyone around him want to do the same.
This is BYO.✨

That smile at the end of class.
You can’t fake it & you can’t manufacture it anywhere else.
…it’s why people who try hot yoga once end up coming back for years.
Sweat still on your skin, legs a little heavy, mind completely quiet.
You didn’t think about a single thing for 90 minutes- it’s the closest most of us get to a full reset.
The room does something that’s hard to explain until you’ve felt it.

This is Mats.
Precise. Grounded…And somehow completely light and lifted.
That quality follows him into the hot room.
His classes have a stillness to them - even at 40°C, even when it’s hard.
Check the schedule at byo.no and book into his classes M/W 12pm

The sequence never changes.
You always do.
And one of the greatest tools we get from a Bikram Yoga class is our ability to regulate so that we can ride the waves in ease.
Same 26 postures. Same order. Every single time.
What changes is you - your energy, your state, the heat feel,
how well you slept, what you’re carrying.
That’s the point.
The hot room gives you a fixed container and asks you to show up anyway.
Not at your best.
Just present.
And use your magnificent internal toolbox to regulate and ride.
Over time, your nervous system learns something important.
Stability isn’t about conditions being perfect.
It’s about knowing you can handle them when they’re not.
That’s the skill you take with you outside.
