For the last time, AFC Show has honored some of the top performers of the past year. Next year the Lura Bulls will carry on that tradition. Right before the Super Bowl started, head coach Reed Gottula announced the 2013 winners. They were:
Rookie of the Year: Fredrik Bjørheim
Most Improved Player: Eric Baden
Ironman of the Year: Jarle Vangsnes
Most Valuable Player: Jorma Bailey
Congratulations to them all! We look forward to seeing them on the field for the Bulls in 2014 :-)

Footballs, pads, helmets and flag football sets making it's way across the fjord, as AFC Show/Lura Bulls assists Haugesund Amerikansk Fotball in getting off the ground. We wish them good luck with their first ever practice tomorrow!

It's Saturday, and it's gametime!
For the last time in history, AFC Show's U19-team takes the field, as they face the Oslo Vikings in Oslo for the final game of the season at 4PM.
Next year the U19 team will be back on the field, but then as Lura Bulls, as we'll have completed our change of club affiliation in a few month's time - and well before the next U19 season.
We'd also like to thank the Tønsberg Raiders - Amerikansk Fotball and Åsane Seahawks for being part of this year's U19 team. The results may not have been the greatest, but it's still been a lot of fun for the players involved, and it's been great for players on the three teams to get to know eachother. GO SHOW!

Today AFC Show U19 was supposed to have our 3rd and final home game of the season. Unfortunately the away team, Lillestrøm Amerikansk Fotballklubb do not currently have enough healthy players to field a team, and the game has therefore been cancelled. A bummer for us, and surely a bummer for them as well!
This is a somber reminder for everyone that recruiting is a very important aspect, and it is something AFC Show will take to heart as well and work hard at in the coming U19 offseason. GO SHOW!

The front page of regional newspaper Rogalands Avis has a guy kicking a football on it today. The kicker is none other than Lura Bulls' Kåre Vedvik, and there's a two-page story inside the newspaper about Kåre and his journey to Marshall University's football program!
The online version is very compressed compared to the huge story in the paper edition, but make sure to check it out through the link below!
There is also a story about our change of name from AFC Show to Lura Bulls in the same paper, so it's truly a football edition today ;-)

AFC Show's U19 team played against the Vålerenga Trolls U19 team yesterday. Although the score suggests slight progress, there was still a few points separating the two teams, as Show lost 0-60.
Nonetheless, the Show U19 team are looking forward to their next game, as the players gain more and more experience throughout the season. GO SHOW!

Did you know that AFC Show's 2012 offensive lineman Jake Dembow is now an assistant coach at FCS (Division I-AA) school Marist College?
Check out Jake's bio in the Marist 2013 football yearbook, and especially his bow-tie!

Did you know that AFC Show will cease to exist once 2013 turns into 2014?
No, we're not folding - we're changing affiliation, as we will no longer be part of Siddis Sportsklubb (which uses FC Show, AFC Show etc. as a name outwards).
From 2014 we will be an official part of Lura IL, and be known as the Lura Bulls

The federation had a national team tryout in Stavanger today, and many players from AFC Show participated, in addition to players from Bergen Storm and Kristiansand Gladiators!
It was a well-organized and solid day of football for everyone involved, and good to see the direction the Norwegian national team is heading in!
If you want to see more pictures from the event, check out the photo album which will be posted at the page of Lura Bulls shortly :-)

Some good news and some bad news from us today:
The bad news from our perspective, is that AFC Show's U19 team lost today. The Kristiansand Gladiators U19 team was slightly stronger, to the tune of 63-0. The game was close scoring-wise for about a quarter, and Show did move the ball at times, but not well enough to get the ball into the endzone.
The good news: Congrats to Tom Levick and Great Britain, who won a decisive victory against the Czech Republic today, taking 3rd place in the European C-Championships!
In the championship game, Denmark showed their class and beat Italy 49-29, and Denmark moves up to play the A-level European Championship tournament next year. Congrats to them!
Tomorrow, AFC Show's players get a chance to be part of Norway's effort to once again build a national team, as there's a national team tryout in the Stavanger region. Some of Show's best players will be on hand to participate and hopefully make a good impression on the national team coaching staff. Norway will face none other than the mentioned Danes for a game next year!
