A fantastic weekend of sailing and partying during the Haugesund Race Weekend!

First race of the season and Curium gets 3rd place

The second regatta of the Wednesday Series is now finished. We can say it was an improvement from the first. However, the crew still have a lot to work on before we will be able to compete for the top positions in our class. After an initial false start, resulting in us having to do a penalty turn, we were able to clintch on to the rest of the pack who were roughly 10 minutes ahead after the first rounding. As the regatta progressed so did the front of the pack. It did not help much that an offshore supply vessel decided to power straight through the regatta course forcing us to tack upwards... At 6th place out of 10 we can say we are neither satisfied nor dissatisfied. As our progress continues everything is definitely heading in the right direction!

After 18 hours 16 mins and 20 seconds Team Curium came in 2nd place at the 2012 Ryfylke Rundt, great effort from the team: Hans, Eivind, Tom and Anders. The race had a bit of everything from 2.5m waves and 30 knot winds to completely wind still and whales that came to visit us at night. Fantastic race, some pictures to come shortly.
