Sometimes Pulpit Rock gives you endless views over the Lysefjord. Sometimes it gives you clouds, mist… and the perfect setting for a Haaland pose. 😄

These three siblings certainly didn’t let the weather spoil the experience. That’s part of hiking in Norway — every day in the mountains has its own atmosphere, and sometimes the less-than-perfect weather creates the best memories.

A father and son, a beautiful evening on the water, dramatic skies and the quiet islands around Stavanger. Sometimes the moments between the catches are just as memorable as the fishing itself.

Ling are powerful, aggressive predators, and when one takes the bait you usually know about it. This one gave a proper fight before finally coming aboard — followed by a very well-earned smile.

That combination of anticipation, a hard fight and never quite knowing what will come up next is a big part of what makes fishing around Stavanger so much fun.

Far from the busy trails, we had this entire mountain area to ourselves. No crowds, no noise — just a quiet lake, beautiful weather and the perfect place to stop for lunch.

This is one of the things I love about private hiking: the freedom to leave the popular trails behind and experience a completely different side of Norway.

And no, this wasn’t the catch of the day. 😉 Plenty of bigger fish came aboard too, but moments like this are part of what makes a day on the fjord so much fun.
