♟️ Know Your GM Series | Alireza Firouzja
Some players become grandmasters.
Some become symbols of the future of chess.
Alireza Firouzja belongs to the second category. 🌍🔥
Born in Babol, Iran, in 2003, Firouzja started playing chess at the age of 8. What followed was one of the fastest and most exciting rises the chess world has ever witnessed. By just 12 years old, he became the youngest Iranian Chess Champion in history, and at 14, he earned the prestigious Grandmaster title.
But what truly made the world stop and pay attention was not only his rating — it was his fearless style.
Sharp attacks, deep calculation, creative sacrifices, and incredible speed under pressure made Firouzja one of the most entertaining players of the modern era.
At only 16, he crossed the legendary 2700 rating mark, becoming one of the youngest players ever to achieve it. A few years later, he broke another historic barrier by becoming the youngest player in chess history to surpass the 2800 FIDE rating, breaking a record previously held by Magnus Carlsen himself. ♟️⚡
Firouzja has already:
🏆 Won multiple elite international tournaments
🏆 Qualified twice for the Candidates Tournament
🏆 Defeated world champions and super grandmasters
🏆 Reached World No. 2 in classical chess
🏆 Become one of the strongest rapid and blitz players on the planet
Beyond results, what inspires millions is his courage and individuality. From changing federations and rebuilding his career in France to competing fearlessly against the very best players in the world, Firouzja represents a new generation of chess — confident, creative, global, and uncompromising.
His games are not just victories.
They are statements.
For young chess players everywhere, Alireza Firouzja is proof that age is never a limitation when passion, discipline, and ambition come together.
♟️ The future of chess is already here — and his name is Alireza Firouzja.

Magnus Carlsen has dominated an entire generation of chess. ♟️👑
He defeated legends, crushed rising stars, and ruled the board with unmatched consistency.
But among all his challengers, only a few truly pushed him to the limit.
🇷🇺 Sergey Karjakin tested Magnus with incredible resilience, mental toughness, and defensive brilliance — turning every game into a war of patience and pressure.
🇺🇸 Fabiano Caruana challenged him in a completely different way: with elite preparation, razor-sharp accuracy, and a level of precision that made even Magnus look vulnerable.
One pushed the champion emotionally.
The other matched him intellectually.
Both came dangerously close to changing chess history.
So tell us…
♟️ Who do YOU think was Magnus Carlsen’s greatest rival?
19/05/2026
♟️🔥 Magnus. Ding. Firouzja. Anand. Arjun. Caruana.

The FIDE World Team Rapid & Blitz Championships 2026 is heading to Hong Kong, and the lineups are absolutely stacked. 🌍⚡

Question for the real chess fans 👀
Which team are YOU backing this year?
19/05/2026
True strength isn't physical. It's the power to smile through the pain.
When GM Ding Liren arrived at the 43rd Chess Olympiad in Batumi, he couldn't even walk without crutches. Just months earlier, a cycling accident had fractured his hip—a severe injury that would sideline most athletes. But Ding Liren is no ordinary competitor.
He chose to stand—both literally and metaphorically—for his country. 🇨🇳
Through grueling 11 rounds, he sat motionless at the board, channeling every ounce of focus into his moves. The result? An extraordinary and gritty performance. He remained unbeaten (3 wins, 5 draws) on the top board. He achieved a spectacular 2873 performance rating. He led China to tie for the Open team gold against powerhouse teams like USA and Russia. And he secured the individual gold medal on board 1—a historic first for Chinese chess.
Ding's story is about more than winning. It's about sacrifice, resilience, and the will to represent something larger than yourself.
This is what a real champion looks like. This is the legacy we celebrate at Lumbini Chess Academy. Who is your warrior today?

From a silent chessboard to a stadium of applause — Rishon Thapa Magar just did THAT. 🚨♟️
At the 6th Dolakha Open International Chess Tournament, this young LCA lion roared:
🥇 1st in Classic U14
🥈 2nd in Rapid U1600
No luck. No shortcuts. Just raw grit, long nights, and a coach who believed in him before the scoreboards did. Big love to Coach Shikhar Regmi — the mastermind behind this magic. ✨
This isn't just a win. It's a warning shot.
The future of Nepali chess? It's already here. And it wears LCA like armor. 💪🇳🇵
POV: you just watched a star being born.
Don't blink — he's just getting started.
