Judo was created on May 4, 1882, in the city of Tokyo, Japan, by His Excellency Professor Professor and Master Jigoro Kano who was born on October 28, 1860, in the city of Mikage, Hyogo District in Japan. Excellency Mr. Jigoro Kano started practicing Martial Arts at the age of 17 to learn how to defend himself, as he was short (1.50m) tall and very thin (50Kg). He quickly became a specialist in Martial Arts and then decided to create a fight where The predominant was the technique and not the force. Thinking like this, Jigoro Kano, united two Martial Arts, which became a specialist, Ju-Jitsu and the Art of the Samurai, eliminated all the violent and dangerous techniques of these arts that he had learned conserving the more efficient and thus invented Judo, as training and spiritual discipline encompassed technique with pedagogical and scientific principles, in other words, made a preparation for daily life and social interaction of Man.JU - Gentle, gentle; DO - Way, principle; JUDÔ - P In 1882, Jigoro Kano founded his Kodokan Judo School, which still exists in Japan today and is the largest Judo School in the World. In the beginning Jigoro Kano had great difficulty in teaching his “Smooth Art” with principles ethical, philosophical, psychological, civic, moral and pedagogical capable of shaping man in society, as he suffered a lot of prejudice by practitioners of Ju Jitsu, martial art prevalent at the time in the Japanese Empire. In 1886, Jigoro Kano's Judo was recognized in a competition in Tokyo, Jigoro Kano was challenged by the Japanese Empire, so Judo-Kodokan sent his 15 Best representatives to face the 15 Best Ju-Jitsu at the time ... The result of the competition was indisputable and definitively enshrined the School of Judo-Kodokan of Jigoro Kano in the final result: - 13 wins and 2 draws. From then on, Judo started to be respected in Japan and known worldwide.
